RMweb Gold MarshLane Posted February 9, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 9, 2019 Hi George, Both sides look good! Any reason you've gone for a fictional Class 37/4 - there were quite a few 37/0s in RfD which would have been more accurate? Not criticising just wondering Rich
georgeT
Hello Rich, Just being lazy buddy, but l will do a bit of searching, but l though it was a 37/4, wrong again, hahaha l used to have a book with all the liveries and numbers in, is there a web site you know of where l can get some info ?

D6775
The Heljan model is basically a series 2/3 un-refurbished 37, ignoring the skirts (only applicable for Green/Blue & 183 in Large Logo), glass Headcode panel, boiler ports and RSH grill the following 37's carried trainload coal and RfD taken from my 1993 combine: RfD: 37131/154178/185/194/218/225238/242/244252/261/271/272/298/378 Coal: 37139/167/212/213/222/223/229/239/274/375/376/380 As with anything its worth looking at prototype photographs, chuck any of these in the search box in Flickr & see what pops up. Don't take the above list as gospel, there may well have been others and my book suggested 217 was in Coal but it never actually got painted! Pete Harvey does etches to plate over the headcode panels and replace the buffer beam, I've just ordered another set to do my second one. Its not that difficult a job to be honest and could be done with just re-painting the nose end. Al. 1

Type in a loco number or something like 'Railfreight Distribution' and see what it comes up with - the Imaging Centre on the Railway Herald website is good for that too as there are quite a few archive photos on that and a reasonable search facility - again some term or loco number can be used. Keep up the good work... Rich

RMweb Gold PeterBB Posted February 12, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 12, 2019 George at last it seems I might have cracked the new system and managed to find your layout. Staggered to find that you have reached 19 pages ... well it might be before I finish this at the rate that you are going ... retirement seems to suit you. Looking great and the Signatrack ... wish I'd kept it! - the price they are these days - and I like your sloping panel idea. Megapoints servo controllers for points - yes, they are really good.
