all may be not lost.....the files still exist it appears, they may be recoverable

Assuming you did not overwrite the disc then all that is lost is the file directory link to the data.  It should be recoverable.  There are quite a lot of free Apps available.

Yes I did reply to you this morning stating that but I must have replied on  FB "not the 0 gauge guild" as I cannot see  it here.

I've looked at so called free software, which actually either don’t download files big enough, or actually the software is free like deep drill, but to actually recover the files you have to pay, in this case about $137au, so it’s not worth it for me, however, I may be able to find someone who has the software available to do it for far less

I think they take over your pc retrieve the files get payment then release the files onto your pc so you have to pay again if it happens again.  I did retrieve some files in a work environment  using a company that specialised in such work yes we had to pay but we needed the business files off the hard drive.  We got about 99% recovered and the corrupt remaining file we could see some [enough] of the data for us to use it by reloading that bit again.

At the end of the day you have to decide how much is it worth to you to get it back.   I actually think now, we rented their processes and they charged by amount recovered.  Cant remember what it was called though.

I wish you good luck and be very careful who you use.

I'll have a look to see if I have any info stored anywhere i can refer to.

Regards

Well, it turns out 122 route learner unit L102 was used to train Bedford drivers between Sevenoaks, Orpington and Blackfriars for Thameslink in early 1990. It was stabled overnight at Tonbridge in the west yard. Perhaps it may have visited HG for fuel under rule 1. It may also be suitable for a project after HG is completed......hmmmm

Don't know if this one may be useful, a free prog called Diskdigger. Used it in the past on Win 7, worked well, recovered items I needed. Haven't checked to see if works on Mac/Apple systems.

it was never downloaded on my Mac. The file was airdropped from the sd card to my iPad, and only plugged into the iMac to facilitate this action

Ian just another thought could it still exist in the cloud, i.e. have you only deleted it from your sd card.  I'm assuming here that your ref to airdropping is to - from the cloud store.  :read:

Have you tried looking with the stored id to see if anything comes up?

2450hp each. Basically they are a Dash8 in an Australian body on 3ft 6in gauge hauling 7000 tonnes up and down 1:45 grades. Being GE 4 stroke sound lovely. Videos of them on my channel
