RMweb Premium keefer Posted July 19, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 19, 2022 I don't think so as the ETH jumper from the coach wouldn't be long enough to reach the socket on the right. Both jumpers need to be in both sockets to complete the supply interlock.

JeffP
Does anybody know why was Ipswich shed closed so early in it's life? Yet there's always been a stabling/fuelling point there.

It also closed before Felixstowe got busy

Yet there's always been a stabling/fuelling point there. Probably for just that reason really; with a lot of the branch lines in the area closing and local freight traffic drying up they didn't need a maintenance depot in Ipswich any longer and with a fuelling facility and signing on point at the station as well, those things would have been sufficient. I presume in BR days the drivers for DMUs would have signed on at that signing on point as well and found their units stabled in the carriage sidings, so the Croft St. loco depot would have been superfluous really. When I started spotting in about 1968/9 I remember being intrigued by seeing a Brush 2 at Cambridge with 32B stencilled on it yet that depot wasn't listed in my Locoshed Book!
RMweb Gold Enterprisingwestern Posted September 6, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 6, 2022 I would think the run down of docks traffic did for 32B as much as anything else. For more pics of 15's at Ipswich visit emgauge70's and look at my pics. Mike.
