Model Railway Noob
I found some ambulance coaches
sem34090
Yes, they were made by a friend of mine for me. Unfortunately we've yet to be able to iron out the problems with the two-tone doors on the other coaches. Out of interest, did you find them on the Railsim.fr site or via my ROD website linked below?

Hi, I used the link on your website. What an amazing project. I was thinking to myself only a day or two ago as I was looking though the sales of DLC and wished someone would release a WWI pack for Train Simulator set in France and Belgium! I found your site via the forums on a railway site after searching for more ROD information. I bought the coach pack today just for the ambulance train. I bought the ROD last week. I got all three coaches on my train but it would not pull them
Model Railway Noob
Looks more like a Mogul to me... It's sold as a Robinson 04 I don't have a clue what a Mogul looks like but I do have a Bachmann Robinson 04 and it looks similar to me but then it would. sem34090
I'm afraid it isn't sold as a Robinson O4... http://digitaltraction.co.uk/mainsite/products/gwr-43xx-loco/ Digital Traction sell it as a GWR 4300 Class Mogul (A Mogul is a 2-6-0). (Image from Digital Traction's website) Are you also finding that the loco only moves very slowly? This is probably because on this loco the small ejector needs opening to release the brakes, which can be done by pressing 'J', if I remember correctly. The 4300 shouldn't have a problem with the coaches as I've had it working up a 1 in 60 gradient with four GWR 'Toplight' coaches before now. I really need to get started on the ROD TS Project properly. I may do a small fictional ROD route first before cracking on with the Hazebrouck project. For those who are interested or who are non-members, here's a link: http://sem34090.simplesite.com/

Maybe I read another post describing it as a Robinson and concentrated only on the images Who knows. I will try that and it is almost certainly the reason why not. I would like to try 16 coaches if it will take it. I did look for keys I was missing but didn't notice anything else. The project sounds really exciting. Steadfast
I was going to set up some screenshots yesterday, I thought a 92 on some containers approaching Rugby would be good, when I went in I noticed I’ve only got grey 92s. There used to be an option for those with EWS beasties logos, but it looks like they’ve removed that livery. Bit sneaky. As so much third party content lacks EWS branding I assume it’s DB protecting their (acquired) IP.It's still got EWS in the name of it on steam https://store.steampowered.com/app/222607/Train_Simulator_EWS_Class_92_Loco_AddOn/ and the screenshots show EWS beasties on the side. It's not an option that has to be toggled with the number is it? I know some stock you had to read the manual and put letters after the number when setting up scenarios to allow different variations Jo
RMweb Premium njee20 Posted January 6, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 6, 2019 Yes, I saw that, but the only scenarios I have for it are unbranded grey, and the only options in the consist list or if I try and build a custom one are for grey. Bit of a shame, it’s my favourite loco, and I like the ‘beasties’ addition. Also a bit naughty if they’re advertising it differently. There was a really good CS skin available for it, but the site’s gone.
Model Railway Noob
I realised my mistake. I bought a Robinson 04 at the same time. The comment below the original OP about the Mogul was about a Robinson so I went looking for one. I would like to have a go at a re-skin. Is any particular software required or is Photoshop sufficient? Does anyone know where the images are to edit to save lots of searching?
sem34090
I've tried to reskin the O4 into ROD Livery, but have thus far not succeeded. In the meantime perhaps these reskins for Richmond Vale Railway No.23 (an ex-ROD machine) will do? In order for them to work you will require the 'Memories of Maerdy' Pack I'm afraid, and to get the Westinghouse Pumps you'll need the WD 8F Pack from Steam Sounds Supreme. I've linked to all of those below: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1lK_qqlyD1Nxn-1zV0juyZ86QLDdhy9T5 https://www.steamsoundssupreme.com/page_s8fp2wd.html https://store.steampowered.com/app/208294/Train_Simulator_Class_J94_Memories_of_Maerdy_Loco_AddOn/ The locos will only show up if the 'Memories of Maerdy' pack is installed, but if you are happy to have a plain black tender and to simply remove the BR number in the scenario editor then that should do the trick without the expenditure. sem34090
Well done Sir! That looks very nice, even though possibly the BR one was not the best starting point. I should have mentioned that an ROD Black reskin for the 4300 (And a Khaki one for the City too, to match the Bachmann pack) is available here: https://stglorianagamingcollege.jimdo.com/darjeeling-s-railworks-reskins/gwr-reskins/

I need to get rid of all the red trim but I was eager to see if it works first. I dind't double check the ROD lettering either. I have just downloaded the others. I presume the City needs an existing City Class? Incidentally, I cannot find any evidence of those going abroad in WWI. I've been meaning to ask Bachmann. If that is the case, I don't know why they would paint it khaki as I think ambulance train locomotives in this country were painted in the regular company colours but I may be wrong. At least the photos I have seen were but they could have just been delivery photos as the ambulance coaches were mostly paid for by fund raising which you probably know. I think your choice of route was the first ROD line from memory. I go over quite a bit as I am into WWI. I spent two weeks photographing the Western Front in 360 VR in the summer and went again before Christmas to the site of my CCS and of course Ieper. I may have a go at a Robinson then Dead Goods.
sem34090
For a first try that's fantastic my friend! As for ROD reskins a friend and I are planning a whole range of them to go with the route. As far as I know the Bachmann Khaki City is a figment of their imagination, though the coaches are reasonable but still not perfect. I didn't know Hazebrouck was the first centre of ROD operations! That's quite convenient. The Robinson is probably the easier one to do as the livery is already unlined black. There isn't a Dean Goods in-game yet but I think Digital Traction are working on one. LU_fan
Class 43's with buffers look so weird to me, but I do like the Grand Central livery! Simple, yet elegant. Here, 43480 is seen passing Oakleigh Park with a northbound service.

sem34090
Is that your reskin of the tender? If so is there a chance of you making it publicly available? If it's not yours then where is it available?
LU_fan
The game just threw this little thing at me. Not my train either. I had just loaded a Chiltern train on the track next to it, out of view to the right, when I noticed the number on the 50.
