Guest WM183
Hi all. I have a couple of Bachmann tank engines - a 56xx and a 8750 - that I would like to detail a bit more. To that end i am installing screw-link couplings and will be adding crew figures, though I am unsure who might make good quality ones. I would also like to add some etched number plates, smokebox darts, and details like fire irons and buckets, but I am unsure who or where to buy such bits from. I am guessing such popular engines have detail parts available, but my Google-Fu seems weak with regard to finding anything. Any one have some suggestions? Thanks much! RMweb Gold gwrrob Posted May 15, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 15, 2019 Smiths do some nice screwlink couplings. Modelu do a proper job GWR crew. Depending on the number you'll get etched plates from Modelmaster, Fox or 247 Developments. Markits or Comet [Wizard Models] do GWR smokebox darts and Springside Models the fire irons and bucket.

Thank you so much! By chance do you know if the Comet Models smokebox handles needed for a GWR engine are plain or flanged? Everything else is on the way for my 56xx, the first one I will detail and weather!
RMweb Gold gwrrob Posted May 16, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 16, 2019 Not sure what you mean by flanged but here's the Markit's version I've used before https://www.roxeymouldings.co.uk/product/1014/4ma053-sr/lner/gwr-smokebox-door-handle-1-/

Steamport Southport
Brassmasters do quite a few parts as well. http://www.brassmasters.co.uk/ As do PDK http://www.pdkmodels.co.uk/ Jason
Guest WM183
Thank you so much folks. I am amazed at the sheer number of companies and individuals making specialty parts for 4mm; a delightful change from modeling in American N scale.
