JSpencer
I have brought a set of ZEN 6 pin decoders. The only thing is, it does not say which side is pin 1! The instructions say the Orange wire. Useful if the harness was supplied fitted but they are not. Does anyone know how to determine pin 1?
Nigelcliffe
Method 1: Suck and see, assuming the decoder is correctly built to the standards, you can't damage it. If its the wrong way round, the motor doesn't work, and the lights will behave oddly in response to changes in speed at the throttle. So turn it around and all will work correctly. Method 2: Find photo on maker's website of a wired version (assuming there is one). Use that to orient the six-pin wiring.

There is a printed #1 on the heatshrink. Quite visible in the pic on the website image https://www.dccconcepts.com/product/zen-6-pin-versatile-2-function-decoder-wstay-alive/ Cheers, MIck
