On Cats

She has really come out of her shell and is even sitting on my sons window cill looking at the garden. She had previously been a house cat, so isn't chipped yet. We will give it a while before doing that.

She is surprisingly big, My wife received an all claws wallop from a front paw which is pretty sizeable. Made me chuckle.

The new home visit by the Animals in Need charity is happening today for this guy and it is almost guaranteed that Saturday will see him and his fave toys collected and delivered to his new owners.

 

He is leaving us tomorrow…his new home is acceptable to the charity.

I could post about Harry my neighbour's cat almost every day but I have finally given in.

 

This morning Harry sat on my kitchen table listening to the Today programme. At the 8 o'clock time signal he sat bolt upright as if to attention in front of the radio and listened to the headlines. Something about our prime minister, the virus and an international item. Then another newsreader returned to the first story (the prime minister) ... Harry stood up, turned around, and lay down with his backside against the radio.

This morning he got up, didn't get any breakfast and went to see the vet.

... He came back without something to which he was rather attached.

Well Harry has been a PITA all day and I can only guess it is because of his new-found fame here. In particular he refused the second helping of the tuna he consumed with gusto yesterday and he has been pestering for something else all day.

 

He likes my kitchen table. He gets a dual aspect (garden view + driveway with his owner's house), a radiator, and his feeding bowl two yards away. This photo was also last year, he didn't get his picture taken today.

I gave the "clapping hands" for his going to his forever home and a new happy, healthy, and long life. Ans, maybe he senses the upcoming changes and realizes "Home at last.". He sure does not look to perturbed in that carrier.

An unexpected twist to Bruce’s story is that he is now going to live next door to my girlfriend’s parents. Here he is earlier today clearly pining for us and struggling to settle in…NOT!

I am currently sleeping on the sofa as my wife has had covid for over a week now and is quarantined in our bedroom upstairs. Robbie our cat is more than happy to snuggle up.

Nala is only just coming out of her shell now that Bruce has departed. She spent a couple of hours with us tonight…again unusual. Any play has to be done in a gentle fashion but she is getting there.
