We are away too often to have pets though but she does get her cat fix with next doors two cats. There is a place in Japan where they have a model railway ,trains having a camera on the front. The trains are regularly swiped off the track. The videos can be found on Youtube Excellent! Our old now departed cat 'Badger' was a dab hand at derailing trains on my son's and my layout. She seemed to recognise the Birds Eye frozen fish train working where she would implement an immediate occupation stopping everything. I don't allow the cats up in the loft now as derailments can be expensive! 17

Like the white streak on her nose, just like my lad Badger now also no longer with us: My lad was also named after Badger in Wind in the Willows, because of his very serious outlook on life, dedicated to the extermination of mice and rats! 9
RMweb Premium Popular Post J. S. Bach Posted July 5, 2023 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted July 5, 2023 (edited) My dear, departed Wingnut also had some odd white hairs on the bridge of her nose right between the eyes; enough to be noticeable but not enough to form any pattern: Edited July 5, 2023 by J. Il Grifone
It would appear that the 'Visitor' we have named Felix is really Felicia. 'He' has a very suspicious looking tummy! More kittens are just what we needed! We already have Hansel and Gretel, Tinkerbell, Blackie and Ginger. (Two more have found forever homes!) 1
RMweb Premium Andy Hayter Posted July 10, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 10, 2023 Been there and made the same mistake @Il Grifone. Vets can be wrong too. One of our female arrivals was taken to the vet for sterilisation. Having shaved the belly he found what he thought was an operation scar and stopped the operation. He told us to look out for her coming on heat. We never saw that but 4 months later had an extra 4 mouths to feed.

I wasn't allowed to call our little one Blackie - I was told that would be racist. So I named her Snowdrop. We've also got a Ginger - but that's only his nickname - his proper name is Macavity. 2

My current cat is named Raindrop as she was rescued during a rain storm at our church's Wednesday winter-time "Loaves and Fishes" lunch for the needy. 19

In 2001, whilst we were having double glazing installed, "Felix" walked in through the missing door to join our team of five cats. Sadly it didn't end well for Felix as, after producing three large kittens, she was shot and hit by a car. Fortunately the kittens were almost weaned and one, Guinness, joined the team and had a very happy twenty years with us. 1
