Guest Tom F
My name is Daniel Collinge and I am the owner of the Trainsontime shop in Paisley, I have read with interest the comments made regarding the service received by customers from my small team over the last few years. I started Trainsontime about 5 years ago and was lucky enough to get a career break from my employer for 4 years to establish the business. In June 2011 my 4 years were up and I was asked if I wanted to return to my full time job, It was not a decision I wanted to make but as I have a wife and young family to support I decided to return to work. Over the last 10 months I have tried to work the shifts in my job and on my days off have worked in the shop in Paisley, it has been a difficult time working every day of the week with no days off and I now feel that it is not fair on my customers turning up at the shop only to find we are closed or the orders placed on our website or Ebay site are taking longer to arrive than what our customers have expected over the years, it is also not fair on my wife and two young daughters who never see there father as he is always at work. I have made the decision to close the Trainsontime shop in Paisley and also the website and eBay site. As from the 1st May 2012 we will no longer be trading, my email address at trainsontime1@googlemail.com will remain active and I am happy to honour all warranties and gift vouchers over the coming months. I plan to keep all our stock and website for a rainy day though if somebody does wish to make me an offer for the business please feel free to drop me an email. I would like to thank all our customers & suppliers over the years for there help and support and I have had a great experience running the Trainsontime shop. Very sorry to hear that Daniel, can't have been an easy decision. Great service from your team over the last few years! Much appreciated the PM too. All the best for the future! gridwatcher
Sorry to hear this Dan. We will see you around. Many, many locos with sound chips from your shop will be seen and heard on Airthrey Park, Devilla Colliery and Elliott Bridge for many years to come. Thanks! steven156
So sorry to hear this news Daniel. Having spent a lot of time with yourself and the guys in the premises I know how full on it was with the juggling to run the business with the phone constantly ringing and orders flowing in and then getting them all wrapped bagged and tagged before the delivery companies came to dispatch and that was when you were on your career break! Appreciate the bargains, gossip, great service, advice, bacon rolls and banter you and your team always gave me when I came to spend! Stevie. (and I still haven't decided what I'm going to do with the ETHEL you sold me......)
Mark 37
Daniel, I'm really saddened to here this. I like many have returned due to the exemplary service and of coares the class 37's. All the best in future ventures. Mark.
'CHARD
A sad loss Daniel, but how many Type 2s and Peaks have you had to mail down to this Brummie! Maybe it's time for me to call time on my growing fleet of Baby BR-Sulzers in particular! I'll miss the Saturday morning visit to the sorting office, brandishing the postie's red card of delight. But as Andy says, family must come first - many of us have done what we had to, to earn the dollar - but those hours, weeks and months are time you won't get back. All the very best with resuming your career, I hope it treats you well, and thanks for truly exemplary service over the past few years. Great stuff our kid. pauln
Sorry to hear that as I have been a customer in the past. If you have a still have a stock of sound chips (or anything else) that you want to sell I'm sure there would be prospective buyers on rmweb and I'm sure that a caveat of "may take a week to process" would be acceptable if the prices are right. Anyway good luck with the career.
The Black Hat
Hello Daniel, Sorry to hear about the shop closing and the problems with a busy successful employment history! I have been a regular for the sound chips you had in the shop, and bought many different ones for engines I have. Also cant speak highly enough when dealing with the parts to put together a regional class 37, branded in Scotrail, to become my 37425 Concrete Bob. A shame to loose a new shop that specialised in providing excellent service. Thanks and good luck, David F. Newby Bishop Auckland, Co. Durham
RMweb Premium Legend Posted April 29, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 29, 2012 Yes , so sorry to hear this. Only ever had great service from ToT. Its a shame as with D&F in Glasgow retiring model shops very scarce up here.
