Neat. Paul. It was never going to stay like that, it was just to get things running. Wires flapping about are always in the way.

RMweb Gold Worsdell forever Posted February 27, 2022 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted February 27, 2022 Thinking about watering facilities, many North Eastern sheds had one squeezed between the tracks just outside the shed, looks good to me.

MrWolf
The diagonals on ledged, braced and framed doors always run uphill from the hinge rail side to the top of the meeting rail side to stop the door sagging. Those are the right way round to be functional on the real thing. Edited February 28, 2022 by MrWolf Stupid autocorrect

The phrase is should be, the shipping foreman at West Blyth got a new door in 1983 but the joiners who hung it had other ideas!

RMweb Gold Popular Post Worsdell forever Posted March 2, 2022 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted March 2, 2022 A quiet moment in the shed yard, not sure whether No 44 is coming or going, looks like Fred and Bert aren't all that bothered. Looks like the doors are up, they are the right way up, if they weren't and my dad saw them he probably wouldn't talk to me...
RMweb Gold Worsdell forever Posted March 3, 2022 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted March 3, 2022 Not too happy with the colour rendition on the last few photos, the doors and water crane look almost Tan where they should be a rich red oxide colour. I've been taking them with my phone so now I've taken some with my camera, I think the main problem is the lighting over the board, there's 2 strips of warm white LEDs and 1 of daylight and the mix is confusing the sensor as it wasn't much better with the camera. I pulled the board out on to the work table (old ironing board) and the photos under the room light (daylight) are a much better colour.
MrWolf
I have a similar problem when photographing my layout, especially as I only have the phone with which to take and transmit pictures. In the evening, the brick reds and grass greens look strident, yet they're not, as it's a pet hate of mine, along with grey roads that are closer to black. Your new picture looks very much like proper red oxide.
RMweb Gold Worsdell forever Posted March 3, 2022 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted March 3, 2022 So, a swap round of LED strips, first 2 daylight and 1 warm. Both taken on the phone. Overall the colour is good but the doors and water crane still aren't quite there. 2 daylight strips and the doors are better but the rest isn't perfect, the loco lining is a bit purple. Not sure where to go now but the shedmaster has come out of his cosy warm office so I'd better leave it for now... 10
RMweb Gold Mikkel Posted March 3, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 3, 2022 Amazing what a difference the change of lighting made. While the latter are better, they do come up quite blue on my monitor now.

RMweb Gold Worsdell forever Posted April 3, 2022 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 3, 2022 Managed to get a loco coal wagon finished, not 100% certain of the lettering, not found a photo of one in this livery, not sure where 'loco' would be or if it would have 'S D', I've followed photos of the larger 20ton wagons.
RMweb Gold Worsdell forever Posted April 13, 2022 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 13, 2022 Dragged the yard down from it's shelf tonight and I've finally fitted the stop block outside the goods shed, it's been sat there loose and doing no good for months.

Oh, he's up to something, just not work... his boss Mr Langley thinks he ought to be pushing that barrow about but his excuse is its too new and clean and doesn't want to be blamed for scratching the paint...
