Thanks for the reply Trevellan, I feared it might have traction tyres; at least now before I go and buy one I will check the availability of spare wheelsets to re-wheel the power bogie. Oh and a ton of lead to give it some traction.

Having seen Hornby Magazine's conversion last month, I have decided the Limby 40 is definitely for me - minus the sound, plus a DCC chip. Watch this space - I want two green ones...! :lol:

 

I like the Limby 40 alot, but I thought Hornby Magazine's conversion was pretty lazy - they could of at least masked the SYP the correct shape! It's not too much of a stretch to do proper handrails and lamp irons either. Having done this to all 3 varieties of the original Lima shell I can testify it looks pretty good. Even better if your brave enough to add the windscreen etch which really does make it look "right".
