N'Tastic Scale Models - Road Vehicle Range

I received a selection of Ntastic models several weeks back, and holidays and a missing mojo , slowed down getting one built.

The kits come with separate wheels, chassis, body and major sub assemblies which are best painted individually. The parts are wrapped in tissue and gentle unpacking reveals the 3d printed parts which show virtually no layering and the barest marks where the support structure for printing was attached. The tissue parcel is in a self seal bag, and this is inside another self seal bag on a display card.

This is the Commer V series turntable ladder fire appliance and is remarkably like the real one stationed at Carlisle.

http://fireflash-delta64.co.uk/bhh385b[ac].jpg

The first photo shows what comes in the kit. The rear body section has stabiliser jacks at each corner. The one piece ladder locates on the turret which sits on a circular depression on the rear body section. detailing is very good and the cab front itself shows some tiny details including the individual letters spelling C O M M E R  above the radiator grille.

I lightly sanded any residual support structure marks before applying a light primer coat followed by air brushed Vallejo Model Air top coats. Parts were assembled using cyano super glue. A steady hand is needed for the precise painting of the detail parts - mine is out of stock at the moment. But I am well pleased with the result.

N’Tasic April 2023 Update

Welcome to N’Tastic Scale Models April 2023 big update, we have new models, new business relationship / tie-in that will bring many benefits and other scale update.

1st up new models we have the Mk3 Transit introduced in 1986, we are initially releasing this in 11 versions. You asked for a bus so the Mk3 transit includes a small bus that I think of as a clipper. We have recently added 2 new Ford Cargo lorries a Tandem Tipper and Delivery van based on a Royal Mail lorry with a tail lift. We plan over April to release 2 new horse drawn vehicles and some new figures.

2nd we have reached an agreement with Scale3D to start selling some of their range of figures and items in 1/148. This will hopefully grow over time to form a great relationship. Scale3D have a large range of figures, scenics and buildings available in larger scales. They don’t currently sell much in 1/148 scale if anything. They also spend a lot of time scanning items, animals and people for new items to add to the range. We will be able to arrange to get figures scanned in the future and share the development costs. The new items will start to appear during April and May.

3rd other scale update, as part of the agreement with Scale3D I will start passing my designs on to them to be sold in scales larger than 1/100 possible 1/120. So, with immediate effect I will not be developing a 1/100 or 3mm range on my website, but have passed an initial 10+ vehicles on to Scale3D. I will also stop selling 1/120 on my website but will continue selling through Road Transport Images if they want to carry on stocking this scale on their trade stand.

All our kits are carefully researched using sales catalogues, manufacturers brochures and photographs. We have an extensive list of planned new kits stretching out into the future that are currently being researched. I hope to continue growing this range over the course of this year and next as funds and time allow. If you have a particular vehicle you would like to commission, please drop us a message via our website and we’ll see if we can help.

Thank you for your support, over our first year, here’s to the next great year of N’Tastic Modelling.

The new display stand and the full range were on show at Railex Buxton at the weekend. The range is growing steadily and already nearly to big for the new stand. I was also demo-ing vehicles by other kit manufacturers like R Parker, Arrowhead and PG Models and had a few reliveried ODs and Base Toys. The gap at the top is waiting for a group to be repaired after the boxes were knocked on the floor, by my neighbours, several needed repairs.

Alot of discussions about 3D printing and at 1 point told that filament is better than resin if you get the settings right, I am happy with resin so will carry on.

Heres a pic.

Yep I backed their Kickstarter at some point and got their Tilly, figures, Spitfire and building kit. They are planning another Kickstarter at some point. I was talking to them on messenger earlier about a couple of things oddly enough. I have spoken to them in person as well at IPMS World at Telford last year. May do again this year, but their not having a stand this year.

Hi Grahame

I know he is working on quite a few buses and a few for me, which is keeping him busy to at least August. I take it LT is London Transport? Could you email me more details and I'll see if he's interested in adding them to the list.
