RMweb Premium Ref44 Posted July 3, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 3, 2022 Obtained one of these a week ago. Has been fiited with a DCC decoder. Having got some track laid, the loco was slowly lapping the circuit on a 14ft x 3ft board. Did 4 laps then stalled. On examination the rear n/s crankpin has fallen out. Needless to say given the small size, it can't be found. Hs this happenefd to anyone else? Peco have been contanted re spares, but its not great given how little use the loco has had. I've still got a Princess to chip.
RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted July 3, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 3, 2022 Can you pass a magnet over the track bed to see if you can pick up the crank pin ?
Steamport Southport
It's a known issue. Packaging problems meant they were getting damaged in transit. Details on how to get in touch here. https://peco-uk.com/blogs/news/small-england-locomotives-packaging-fault Jason
RMweb Premium Ref44 Posted July 4, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted July 4, 2022 I tried the magnet trick without any joy, I suspect the pin was launched into orbit by the moving rods. Hopefully Peco will respond quickly.
Ian_M
The crankpins are plastic I think, so a magnet probably won't do much good! I had the same problem and Peco sent a small packet of replacements in the post very quickly.
