Moderators Popular Post AY Mod Posted July 22, 2022 Moderators Popular Post Share Posted July 22, 2022 It's DEMU Showcase in Sutton Coldfield this weekend (July 23/24) and we're displaying four (maybe five!) stunning new OO gauge models for the first time. Making their public debut are first samples of the Class 104 DMU, NBL/BR prototype diesel 10800, GWR Parcels Railcar and our all-new 'Far North Line' Class 26 with twin headlights. A sample of gas turbine prototype 18100 is also winging its way to us and will be on show if it arrives in time. As you can see from the photos below, these 'next generation' models will deliver even higher levels of detail and sophisticated lighting, sound and DCC features. Please note that these are first samples, subject to modification and improvement. They are not necessarily representative of the finished product. If you're visiting Showcase this weekend and want to find out more about these models (and any other HELJAN projects), do come and say hello. Our pop-up stand is located next to the Scottish Diesel & Electric Group's stunning 'Wellpark' layout. We look forward to meeting you this weekend! And if you can't make it to Showcase, look out for further updates on these new models soon. 24 2
MRDBLUE17
Thanks for sharing these images here Andy. Hi Ben, it was great to see you at showcase this weekend and chat about all the new models coming. Thanks for letting me have a close look at the new tooling. The 26 with car headlights is looking particularly nice, the detail around the tanks and bogies is very well done with plenty of depth. The etch parts just add to it on the steps and the body side grills. Think this will be extremely popular. I am looking forward to the 104 which again has lots of detail and variations. I can easily see the NSE and a blue one joining my fleet but the Mexican Bean will do very well in the shop. The weathered 45 or 106 are a bit tempting. All the best Mark
RMweb Gold Fen End Pit Posted July 25, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 25, 2022 (edited) Does the 104 have the motor under the floor? It would be nice to get a decent DMU which doesn't have a guard's compartment full of gearbox. David Edited July 25, 2022 by Fen End Pit

RMweb Premium ColinK Posted July 26, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 26, 2022 The 104 looked great and I’m looking forward to getting one or two. I’m hoping that the chassis will be used to develop other dmu models, especially a class 120.
RMweb Premium Solo Posted July 26, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 26, 2022 Was there any word or samples regarding Heljan’s 7mm DMUs? I’m thinking decorated Bubblecars & 117s can’t be far off if the latest delivery dates are anything to go by.

Covkid
Those models do look very nice and thanks Andy Y for sharing them with us. The class 26 looks rather exquisite as does the 10800, but the BRCW DMU is the prize for me. 2
westonp
Good morning. Do you have a date for liveried samples, please? Having received an email from Hattons this week advising of imminent price increases, I’d like to pre-order one (or more!) However, I would like to see the exact liveries beforehand if possible. Thank you.
westonp
I should have added, for the Class 104!

You mean the price of a 3-car DMU in 4mm scale is going to be even more than £380 in 4mm scale - and that's before you add the cost of fitting it with DCC ? 🙄 So how much are we talking about - £500 ?? The sound chip had better include the rattling of the windows. Edited September 11, 2022 by Michael Hodgson

GordonC
Is there not an option for a Class 104 in just plain BR Blue? no headcode panel, no white stripe (looks like the last vehicle had that til 1985), no NSE flash, not Blue-Grey. That would be how I'd remember them post 1985 til they disappeared with Sprinterisation
