Some of the layout descriptions are a little fantastical! 🤣

Sorry but we won’t have any mountains or trestle bridges on the layout! 😁 Hopefully some nice rugged scenery though.

What I sent was a little less flowery.

With apologies to the owner of Rossiter Rise.... I've never heard North-west London described as thus:

Ascend to new heights with Rossiter Rise, a mountainous model railway that takes you on a journey through towering peaks, deep valleys, and awe-inspiring landscapes. Marvel at the engineering marvels of bridges and viaducts as trains conquer the challenging terrain. Rossiter Rise is a testament to the indomitable spirit of railway engineering.

There's no pier on Penmaenbach but I'm bringing it anyway...here's my version:

PROGRAMME INFORMATION

Penmaenbach is a self-contained shunting layout built using a custom-made Grange and Hodder baseboard kit and Peco Code 75 00 Bullhead track. It is a simple set of sidings which can be used as an “Inglenook” shunting puzzle (using wagon cards if required) as well as a connected branch line and small halt to add operational interest. The buildings are a mixture of scratch-built, plastic and laser cut kits. The bridges are made from styrene sheet. The overall setting is inspired by the railways of North Wales but the layout gives us an opportunity to use a wide variety of rolling stock from the 1980s and later when the BR Rail Blue era was ending. Other stock including Civil Engineers wagons may appear from time to time.

The layout is controlled with an NCE DCC system and many of the locomotives are sound chipped. The couplings are Kadees which are operated using fixed magnets. We try to operate “hands off” as much as we can.

The locomotives are mainly detailed and weathered ready-to-run from Hornby, Bachmann and Sutton’s Loco Works and the wagons are mainly Bachmann, Hornby or kit-built although a number of newer manufacturers are now producing suitable wagons and locos. I’ve tried to add suitable loads to some of the wagons.

But seriously......I've had my show info through and it looks like a good show with a lot of trade as well

Nice pictures. Never been to Dresden myself, but those I know who have speak very highly of it.

I’ll post a topic about the escapade soon 😎 Get your bags packed. It’d be perfect if they’d put the freight avoiding line on the same side as the multi way tram junction and you could see it all from one spot!

Just received an invite to next years show (assuming there is one):- Granddaughter was at the leisure centre for a swimming lesson this morning and was asked who she knew that liked model railways. “Grandpa. Can he bring me next year?” was the reply!

Hope the layout selection is as good.

Paul.

We had a most enjoyable weekend; thank you to the organisers!

A few pictures of some of the layouts on display. I thought the general standard of the layouts was extremely high; I particularly enjoyed watching the smaller shunting layouts such as Penmaenbach and K Street Yard (which inexplicably I did not take a picture of!). Both extremely well presented and a no doubt very therapeutic way to spend a few hours operating...
