A - and it just so happens that since one of our former household Christmas Trees long since planted in the garden was last dealt with by the tree surgeons it has grown a number of new small Christmas Trees from it upper boughs. (But it's nota Nordman - too old for that). But as 'Woodenhead' has sad it's a clever seasonal marketing idea from Hornby and I hope it works for them. banburysaint
Interesting to see Hornby advertising train sets for Christmas on the Chiltern service I travelled on this morning. Not something I have seen before
RMweb Premium melmerby Posted November 22, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 22, 2023 The number of retailers selling Hornby and the range they stocked has declined over many years ago. Hobbycraft used to have a good selection of all Hornby stuff, later it was just Railroad, tghen none at all for at least ten years. The Entertainer used to sell a few mainrange along with Railroad, both long gone now. Fenwicks in Newcastle used to have a good range of Hornby and had good discounts on old stock, purchased many an item there. Last time I was there (2019) the toy department was a Graingers Games franchise and no Hornby. As an Example of where you can get Hornby stuff, Twyford Antiques in Evesham sell both new & used Hornby, at least according to the sign outside in a 2023 TV programme
