Can I do a senior scale shunting puzzle on a 4' x 1' baseboard - well the track is laid and I've started on the wiring.

Cambridge sidings were opposite Bletchley depot, the layout will be based on the end of the sidings and will feature stock seen in the area in the early 1980s.

Time for an update - layout all wired up, track ballasted, buildings sourced and painted.

MDF backscenes painted pale grey fixed in position and I've started adding the details which are so much fun!

Get those wagons weathered! Layout is looking good.

LOL, I was just thinking that.

I used Gaugemaster photograpic backscenes on my layout after enduring months of griping from my mates.  They do look impressive despite not being specifically for 0 gauge.

First weathered wagon - a Parkside SPV van in faded BR blue.

These used to come across the flyover at Bletchley on the Aylesbury vans working.

Hello 08221.

I like the start of the grime not overly done and much better for it, it really looks the part now.

0 Gauge is the ideal scale for a slow shunting micro.

Cheers - Jim

With remnants of its unofficial "Redland roof tiles" name visible, very scruffy 08909 waits in Cambridge sidings for its next movement.

08909 and 08221 stand outside the wagon works at Cambridge sidings.

A tip I got from a very talented member is to use enamel black wash as a starting point for weathering.  Slosh it all over the wagon, leave it overnight then remove about 90% of the wash with Q tips and white spirit.  This will highlight the crevices.
