Noted on Google maps that Tutbury models (Staffordshire) closed down as of the middle of January, I was going to call in on my way to toton this morning but luckily checked before I pulled off the A50

This is the notice in the window courtesy of Google

Used it a few times, was one of those shops where if you had a bit of a dig around you could find a few hidden gems at ‘old prices’ my last purchase from there was a ‘new’ Bachmann NSE mk1 for £20

shame to see another model shop go

With this shop shutting where are the nearest alternatives?

TTC diecast (Derby)

topps trains (Stafford)

A to B models (Matlock)

Hobby goblin (Stoke)

Those are all I could think of off the top of my head, none of those are particularly close though

Mech Models out by St Georges' Park - although US outline based used to have plenty of basic modelling stuff.

Particularly good for Evergreen and paints.

Thanks @Bill Radford!

I never knew there is a model shop there, it’s only a few miles from me and we go to the garden centre round the corner a lot - time for a visit!

Take care.

Its been there for about 10 years. It's a manufacturing unit - you have to ring the bell round the side.
