RMweb Gold Re6/6 Posted December 4, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 4, 2012 Haven't looked for a while, but there seems to be fewer shunters there now.
RMweb Gold Re6/6 Posted December 4, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 4, 2012 Olten very busy this morning. http://pittsburgh.et....ch/TC/Cam0 The camera is still only halfway back to it's original position but does give a close-up of the middle platform. A lovely close up of an Re6/6 on a freight and a pair of BLS Re4/4s on a long freight. Do you regulars on here prefer if I started an Olten thread? I like to look at both! Can't look away for a moment ..all action today!
TerrySVR
I think there is already an OLTEN thread but since camera angle changed not as much interest as before, pity it isn't back to its original position.
RMweb Gold Re6/6 Posted December 4, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 4, 2012 I think there is already an OLTEN thread but since camera angle changed not as much interest as before, pity it isn't back to its original position. You're right...it was me that started it...! http://www.rmweb.co....220#entry866220 I've now resurrected it. The camera is halfway back to it's original position now. Still quite interesting with close-ups. Let's hope that the owners do the job properly. Today it's non-stop action. In the time that it takes to do a 'print screen' two more trains have passed! What is useful is the timetables and train formations that are there with the camera images.

RMweb Gold Re6/6 Posted December 6, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 6, 2012 Any idea what the dirty yellowish loco is in foreground of web cam? Looks like a railgrinder or maybe a tamper.

TerrySVR
Seem to be a few more shunters there today.
motorcycle
there's currently enough snow reflecting the light, that the night-vision hasn't turned itself on! Rare nighttime view of Plattling now live!
Dr Gerbil-Fritters
Very nice it looks too, second shot the snow is really coming down and a very lengthy push-pull train is leaving.
Dr Gerbil-Fritters
A freight has just pulled up, a shunter is busy on the right and you can just make out three track workers. They've been sweeping the switches clear of snow. I love the 24 hour business of Plattling, it reminds me of being a child lying in bed and hearing trains shunting in the night.
Dr Gerbil-Fritters
more snow, and a lengthy grain train...
Dr Gerbil-Fritters
Looks as though the railgrinder might be on its way finally...
Dr Gerbil-Fritters
The Loran is back after a night working somewhere. A coal train is speeding through the platforms. If the grain silo ever closes, it would make a great hotel! and the big bo-bo switcher seems to be working a lot lately. Bigger trains? The bad weather? Dr Gerbil-Fritters
they've knocked the old signal cabin down this morning....
admiles
they've knocked the old signal cabin down this morning.... Just seen this too. Replaced by the grey Portacabin style building on the right that sprung up a few month ago maybe? Shame! llamafish
It's not the only thing to go by the weekend. It seems the cam, along with all of their others has been taken down, apparently a complaint has been made over privacy issues. No-one has complained about it in at least 4 years...why now?! motorcycle
the upper half of Plattling webcam still works for me, although it doesn't refresh. Where did you here it had been taken down? I can't understand why anyone would complain about it, are people supposed to close their eyes when they look out of the window?! Hope it comes back, I love Plattling webcam
yorkie_pudd
I finding alot of the net is slow today, site and cam seems to work for afew seconds ut then freezes half pic out or goes blank. But you can still see most of the station and sidings.
Mike at C&M
There are problems with all the cameras on the webcam.deg.net site. As yet, there are no postings from the website host on the feedback page, just fellow watchers of all the webcams wondering what has happened to their favourite viewing.
