motorcycle
I wonder if the owner/maintainer of Plattling webcam could be emailed and asked to turn the night-vision option off? It is off at the moment and it looks so much clearer.
Dr Gerbil-Fritters
I agree - the colour view at night is great, but I suspect its not a case of turning it on or off but how much ambient light there is?
RMweb Gold Re6/6 Posted February 3, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 3, 2011 Is there anybody out there still watching?B) Not much happening there yesterday. Snow has gone and come again and now slowly going!
motorcycle
I'm still watching, but I watch Olten webcam more (although there are no Taurus locomotives there, you do get about 4 freight every 10 minutes). Plattling seems less busy than before Christmas too, but I just saw this and don't recognise the livery
RMweb Premium NGT6 1315 Posted February 3, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 3, 2011 Plattling seems less busy than before Christmas too, but I just saw this and don't recognise the livery I'd say this was a class 1216 electric owned by RTS/Swietelsky of Austria: http://www.railcolor.net/index.php?nav=1405123&lang=1&file=siem_21123_52&action=image&position=
Mike at C&M
Definitely still watching, although I cannot get Olten to work on my PC. I suspect the lack of responses is because it is difficult to match the sheer variety of unusual items seen during the latter months of 2010
bystander
I recently "discovered" the Plattling web-cam and subsequently the chat about the station here. Now I have to confess that I like my trains on 1:1 scale so a few questions came into my mind over the topics. Hence becoming a member just to ask them. If a model of this location was to be tackled how large a layout would be produced in the various scales around these days (I remember having a Triang layout in my childhood - ½ a century ago)? Would it even be feasable?
Dr Gerbil-Fritters
It's been busier tonight, and the snow's back...
Jon Gwinnett
At this time of year, its long gone dark by the time i get to sit at my pc - so my observations tend to use the archive, which doesn't always catch stuff. The yellow OHL tester was there again on Tuesday.
Ohmisterporter
I'd say this was a class 1216 electric owned by RTS/Swietelsky of Austria: http://www.railcolor.net/index.php?nav=1405123&lang=1&file=siem_21123_52&action=image&position=4 Another great looking Taurus livery. They just seem to look good in any colour. Geoff.
EddieB
In oo scale it is a minimum of 100 foot long and probably you would need 150 foot or more to include some of the approach tracks , Width guess around 40-50 foot.. Check if you have a spare barn at the back of the house..... You need Miles for the Lancashire & Yorkshire version. Er, sorry that's Platting, not Plattling! Mike at C&M
http://pittsburgh.et...nnwaldCamJ.html Anybody aware of any issues that oprevent me from viewing the Olten webcam on a standard PC running Windows 7? I am sure there is more to this webcam then a small sqaure with a red cross in it!
motorcycle
It does appear to be a problem with IE be it v7 or v8. Use Firefox and it works fine. There is occasionally a problem when the server becomes jammed with the sheer quantity of requests to view. Leave it a few minutes and it works. It's the same for me. Internet explorer gives a red cross, but firefox works fine with it. You can download firefox at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html scroll down to British version and enjoy! Mike at C&M
Might I suggest the following is a better link: http://www.bueker.net/trainspotting/map.php?file=maps/germany/germany.gif Plattling is down in the bottom right hand corner, with Passau close by on the Austrian border. The view in the picture effectively looks from right to left on the map, the routes to Munich (via Landshut) and Nurnberg (via Straubing) diverge in the distance.
