Plattling webcam

I recently "discovered" the Plattling web-cam and subsequently the chat about the station here. Now I have to confess that I like my trains on 1:1 scale so a few questions came into my mind over the topics. Hence becoming a member just to ask them. If a model of this location was to be tackled how large a layout would be produced in the various scales around these days (I remember having a Triang layout in my childhood - ½ a century ago)? Would it even be feasable?

In oo scale it is a minimum of 100 foot long and probably you would need 150 foot or more to include some of the approach tracks , Width guess around 40-50 foot..

Check if you have a spare barn at the back of the house.....

You need Miles for the Lancashire & Yorkshire version. Er, sorry that's Platting, not Plattling!

It does appear to be a problem with IE be it v7 or v8. Use Firefox and it works fine. There is occasionally a problem when the server becomes jammed with the sheer quantity of requests to view. Leave it a few minutes and it works.

It's the same for me. Internet explorer gives a red cross, but firefox works fine with it.

You can download firefox at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html scroll down to British version and enjoy!

I should have rephrased the question - does anyone have a map showing where the various routes come from/go to that pass thru the station?. Thanks

Might I suggest the following is a better link:

http://www.bueker.net/trainspotting/map.php?file=maps/germany/germany.gif

Plattling is down in the bottom right hand corner, with Passau close by on the Austrian border.

The view in the picture effectively looks from right to left on the map, the routes to Munich (via Landshut) and Nurnberg (via Straubing) diverge in the distance.
