Morning all,

Another work at home day, (which I guess is better than sitting in traffic for 6 hours as I did yesterday,) But hey ho that's life?

Not over much to report.  Hope  Don's (from SA) absence is nowt more that internet problems.

Try and enjoy your day,

Trev.

Morning all

Distressing to note we have some absentees at present. Hope all is well with them, other than too much work/no Internet etc.

After a solidly wet day yesterday, and a windy evening (outside, not in!) this morning dawned hopeful and bright, but has already greyed over. But it's November, so what do I expect?

GP this weekend, so that gives some pivot to the day. Shopping will also be on the agenda.

Hope you weekend is serene.

Had to chuckle this morning whilst leafing through the Lidl christmas brochure included with the morning paper. It is full of pictures of Christmas fare. Really warming in a spicy red and green sort of way, bringing to mind memories of family Christmases past.

Then you come across the Luxury Diced Reindeer.

I can just imagine serving that to the grand kids for Christmas lunch.

Isn't it terrible when you wake up at 4:00am, your head filled with a wonderfully witty comment, perfect for ER,  yet by the time you have brewed a cup of tea said comment has gone completely out of your head? I actually had an early night last night because I was so cream crackered.

I note that the situation in Greece is going downhill fast, yet again. Don't people ever learn anything?

And on that depressing note I'm off to another subject.

Best, Pete.

Morning, although not good here, pouring with pleut, windy as a miller, and 9c which although not bad for November, feels rather cold as it has been so mild.

Again a hope those not posting are well and just sans interweb or too busy.

Oh well, up into the loft this morning to try to pick up a TV aerial feed for Mrs NHN's new TV in the spare room, to go in front of the exercise bike to while away the hours pedalling.  That was why we went across to the UK, to buy said devices, it just so happened I bought a new motorcycle while we were there....honest love.....it wasn't planned.....

To be fair it was actually her idea, but I don't imagine that will often be mentioned. :nono:

Which is why I do not ride a motorcycle!

I've just got up and had a bowl of porage whilst watching the breakfast news.

Later i will put on my pinny and do a little light dusting.............................just for the hell of it!

This is the  misery of being retired

Regards

Richard

Deb and I were always egging each other on to buy things we didn't need and couldn't afford. It's healthy.

Morning All,

It is extremely damp this morning.  Rather a shame given that the weather was rather good over the past couple of days.  However, now the weekend has arrived!

Have a good day everyone...

Best, Pete.

Morning, grey and very windy, leaves blowing all over the place and the temp is showing 8.5, woodburner will be lit sooner than later.

Greece hmm, my brother in law lives in Cyprus and basically payments under the table and avoidance of income tax are a way of life. It will never change, found an article last year about ownership of Porsches in a greek village, according to tax returns everyone was on the breadline yet 1 in 3 owned a porsche.

Plan for today is get in the shed and sort out what railway stuff I dont need box it up then consider selling/part exchanging or it could be an afternoon in front of the telly watching sport, whatever your doing enjoy the day.

Alan

Morning all. Sunny here at present.

Apologies for absence over the last couple of days. The final bit of garden infrastructure - trellis - went up yesterday.

Earlier in the week I dug a hole to put a tree in. The tree arrived and I planted it.

Unbeknown to me the couple who live in a house at the end of the garden had also dug a hole to put a tree in directly adjacent to where we were planting. To be honest we thought we heard some energetic groaning sounds in his potting shed, but as he had The Archers on I just assumed he was a bit excited.

I'm wondering what went through his mind when he drew the lounge curtains on Wednesday morning and found our tree already planted a couple of yards from where he intended to plant his tree! As I type a tree has appeared and looks to be a a few yards from where it was intended to be.

You might ask...."Don't these people ever talk to each other?" Well, of course not. We're English and haven't been introduced yet! I've only lived here 11 or 12 years so am a relative new comer. :)

Have a nice weekend everyone. Andy

Maybe they were enacting that famous book "55 Sheds of Grey"

NHN The friendly supportive is for Mrs NHN - having spent a lot of time pedalling in front of the telly after I broke the elbow I came to the conclusion that you definitely need a TV and maybe connect to some headphones so that the additional volume doesn't annoy anyone.  :mosking:

Oh, and the bike (a fold-up on a trainer) got put away last Christmas when the kids arrived then the exhibition layout went up...one day I'll either get the bike set up again or get some courage to take it out on a cycle path - there's a nice stretch from Dinas to Caernarfon alongside the Welsh Highland Railway - you simply get on the train putting your bike in the wagon on the way up and cycle freewheel back down - but maybe not quite like it is in the film Goodnight Mr Tom.

Wet and windy - not going anywhere...

Enjoy your day all.

Morning all,

I see Debs has managed to keep down the dictionary she swallowed recently - certainly helps broaden our minds.  Various domestic challenges have been set before departure for Wycrail but that should help us avoid the rush and hopefully there'll still be room in the car park by the time we get - quite a good assembly of RMweb it seems although I don't know many of them but I'm taking my badge (if I remember it) so I'll at least know who I am although Dr Station Cat could always remind me I s'pose.

For those who aren't attending have a nice day, for those who are - might see you later all being well.

Mornin' All!

Just back from a quick pre-rain spin on the bike.  Jeez!  About 10 degrees, but with a 24mph wind blowing it seemed colder and, being a head wind on the way back it took me literally twice as long as going!

Jane's birthday today and earned myself heaps of Brownie points by getting her the new Specialised bike she'd set her heart on.  'Course I'll probably use 'em all up next weekend when she's off on a course and I'm off to Spalding MRC's exhibition ........................................(both days).............................. :boast:

Morning all, looks quite bright outside and no rain at the moment. We had localised flooding yesterday now there is a sand bank in the road. Out today to a craft shop nearby for a stare, we went yesterday for a test drive in a C4 Picasso a bit like drive by wire but much more economical and quieter than the Zafira, as well as much better view of the road.

Very bright here in Torbay for our first full day at home after the family gathering in Crewe for Alice's 1st birthday. But it's also very windy.

We've just bade farewell to our third set of visitors in three weeks! They are friends from our previous amateur theatre company in Rugeley and were delighted to have a guided tour of our Little Theatre. They departed feeling green with envy!

Hope everyone is enjoying a relaxing weekend.
