managed to balance my books... not a simple task with the variety of modelling and other things I do.

Junior Herbert is off to Lord's to play cricket (I think it is a sponsors game on the Nursery Ground) on Wednesday.

hope he gets some runs/takes wickets as he is out of luck so far this season.

Sleep well all!

Evening all from Estuary-Land. The locomotive that I thought might provide the chassis for the 3D printed body is totally unsuited. I had assumed that it would be as most American outline models have a centrally mounted motor/flywheel with cardan shaft drive to gear towers on the bogies. Instead this one has a T shaped casting with two separate motor bogies suspended from the arms of the T. Each motor bogie has its own flywheel and gears and they are wired together to give eight wheel pick up. Not suitable for my locomotive but ideal for a model tramcar IMHO. So the search goes on for a suitable chassis, at least I know what to look for.

Morning all. Slightly earlier than planned as I have a rare call out that needs to be covered. At least it's a bright start to the day and I can afford to have my morning coffee first.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning All,

We have a nice bright sunny morning here - it is obviously going to be another warm one later on.

British Airways Cityflyer now use the Embraer 170 out of London City now that the Quadrapuffs (four oil leaks connected by an electrical fault) have been retired.  City is unusual in having a 5° Glideslope and a short runway so aircraft landing there require a special certification - and there aren't many that do.  To be honest, I was very impressed with the Embraers.

As for Boeing - Well.  Other stories for another time!

Have a good day everyone...

Morning all or is it late night. Lost track of time. Last night in yyc. Home tomorrow evening err Wednesday morning.

17 days has just flown by. We arrived with 40kg of luggage in 2 bags. We leave with 90kg in 4. Oops.

Time in the morning for one roar around town in the Mustang. Much nicer than the 81 model I used to have.

After many flights in sh*ty scare bus planes I'll stick to Boeings thank you very much. 767 tomorrow. Far better than the cattle wagon Euro-crap that Transat uses.

Time for some sleep. Laterz

Good morning one and all

I am with Poorly Pal today, minus the wok this time for logistical reasons [early start tomorrow] but happy to munch sarnies at lunchtime and repair to the local 'Spoons for our evening meal before the RCTS meeting in Hitchin.  Some m*d*ll*ng will take place which I fear will result in bad language.

Then I am away for a couple of days.  Tomorrow I head for South Wales for another RCTS meeting, this time in Radyr.  It is another presentation of pictures by the late Alan Jarvis, whose images are now in the care of the Stephenson Locomotive Society.  An early start will enable a mooch around old haunts and probably the odd gasp of horror at some of the changes since my last visit.  Thursday must see another early start to head back up country.  I have a cunning plan to implement but more of that on or after Friday.  For now, pray speculate on the relevance of four bottles of Babycham and a towel.

Oh, I nearly forgot.  Something of a miracle happened yesterday when I made the Ticket Factory webshite work.  It let me go through all the steps to register before telling me that I had already done so.  Now all I have to do is remember what tickets I have bought using it.  They were not for Warners shows, that's for sure.  Welcome to puzzle corner.

Warm thoughts to all in distress

Chris

The Embraer 190 was very comfortable. We got a snack and a drink too! No in-flight entertainment screens but for such a short flight my Kindle was more than adequate.

Today's four trains were first two standard, then metre and finally I think 60 cm gauge . We are going on assorted trains and cable cars tomorrow then I get a couple of relaxing days.

Tony

WAB is 800mm gauge!

Morning Awl,

Sleep was broken by being too hot, too cold, or my back was painful, as it was I still managed about 6.5 hours of it, so better than before the stuff I now take.

Yesterday's cockwomble award goes to the teenage boy, who pushed himself, his earphones and his scooter (the type only very young children  used to play with) out from behind a lorry on my left into my path, had I been in the Land-Rover he would have been flattened, But the car stopped just short of him.  The left two through lanes  had stopped, but my lane had green to turn right....

Mummy Deer has a New Baby Deer, so the previous Baby deer has obviously been kicked out.

Lots of young squirrels, rabbits and other wildlife trying to get their Darwins awards this morning.

Todays work, still trying to do what I can to a major system while I have no Lab, the parts for the AC still hadn't arrived when I left yesterday.

Time To... review the company spam...

Morning from a sunny North West Leeds highlands.

I have a over 60s county match to umpire today. Some modelling may be undertaken before leaving for a 1:30 start.

Enjoy your day everyone!

Morning all. Warm wishes to those travelling to different parts of the country / world. I hope our travellers complete their journeys safely. I awoke to a damp morning, it appears the lack of time to water the garden last night was not too damaging. One day completed this week and I am already exhausted. Amber's recent cough continues to disturb her sleep and ours and I found yesterday a slog. After work I was duely dispatched on the Avon delivery round which was completed fairly quickly and finished at my parent's house for a cup of tea and a catch up. Once home it was school report time although there was only time to get one completed. Just another 14 left to do.

Today sees a potential late finish due to a training course after school. This is all part of the planning for next year, which is pointless to me of course. I very much doubt I will be excused however. This evening needs to see more work on the school reports although the church model group are also meeting between 7.30-9.00. I think I will try and pop in because the next meeting has been cancelled.

The work situation has become a little frustrating. A slight problem has arisen with the agency registration. They need a full birth certificate which I have never had. This apparently can be ordered online for a small cost so it is more an irritating delay than anything else. However it is just another job to add to the list! No word from the last email to the dream job. I hope I have not scuppered my chances before they have begun by asking too many questions. However it is important that I gauge the hours and days they would expect me to work so I can ascertain if I can support the role with additional supply teaching. Hopefully today will see some progress on all of these things.

Have a good day.

You will be back in time for the Rake reopening tomorrow then

I don't mind most planes but it's the seating layout that matters most. However planes that I do my best to avoid are 777w's as they squeeze an extra line of seats down the plane much as charter airlines do in many of their planes. Also not looking forward to the new Boeing 737 max as I believe those will also be quite cramped.

A nice sunny morning but do I really have to be going to work.

Good morning everyone

A brighter and quieter start to today, which finds me heading south toward Crewe, where once again I will be collecting customer information.

Back later.

Morning all and it's a sunny one here.

Planes with more than one seat? What will they think of next!

Not much to report today. Admin has been completed and sent to the post box via a willing  runner.

Youngest aced the spelling test yesterday and should do so on his times tables test today.

MoT result: fail.

It does seem to me that when you take your car to an outfit that specialises in tyres then the tyres need replacing.

And when you take it to an outfit that does specialises in other sorts of work then the fail is for something they are great at fixing.

Heads or tails you lose...

I agree with this in general.

Locally I have had good experience for several years from a branch of ATS (I'm not a shareholder).

It has paid dividends for them in that it is my first port of call for any problems which arise.

They are not always the cheapest but I usually get a discount and willing staff to help with whatever it is.

I first went to them when the Volvo main dealer tried to rip me off to the tune of £600+ on an MOT.

Unfortunately for them, a senior bloke from the MOT enforcers was sitting next to me in the waiting area.

Morning all from Estuary-Land. Andy, there are places that just do MoT's, and if its just the tyres that its failed on go somewhere else for the (cheaper?) replacements as they only have to retest on the bit that failed. I was fortunate that my employer ran an MoT test station that just done Mot's, I even found that they done minor jobs such as adjusting the handbrake for free. Regretably the workshop were they were is now a block of flats. The locomotive that I intended as a donor for its chassis is apparently an early version and the later ones are more conventional so I'm now on the lookout for a Bachmann HO gauge GE 44-ton switcher. I have seen one on E-bay but its not possible to tell from the photographs if it is one of the later ones. I see that the Facebook friend who I mentioned yesterday has removed himself or been suspended from Facebook so no problems about whether or not to 'de-friend' him. Thats it for now, be back later.

Morning good people !

I return after an absence of a few weeks and want to pick your brains !  Very cheeky of me !

We are about to enter into a Trust Deed for our bungalow, in favour of our two offspring, through a firm based in Huntingdon, Cambs, called GuardianLegal.org.uk The Principal is Mike Carter who has a long business history on Linkedin.com

Has anyone had dealings with this firm, please ?  All my research seems to suggest a legitimate outfit but I thought I might just ask.

Morning all,

Another sunny day and Mrs Stationmaster has set off on her community gardening task so she'll no doubt have her name in the local rag again this week and probably a pic if they're short of news.  On the other hand if certain local councillors and their disciples continue to behave as if they live in Clochemerle there'll be no room to mention community gardening endeavours.

Talking of gardening there does seem to be a time when wishes come true.  Sundays epic attention to the lawn and the jungle omitted to spend time achieving further backache by clearing various fallen cheery trees leaves off the lawn - I wished they'd go away on their own.  Also in view of the profusion of the stuff in on an impenetrable jungle area I also wished that muntjacs would eat bindweed.  Clearly these pleadings were heard somewhere and yesterday evening - still in broad daylight - one muntjac duly began to hoover up the cherry leaves (not quite all alas) off the lawn while its mate (?) started eating bindweed leaves;  the lawn clearer then moved on to bindweed leaves until it got fed up with them.  It really does seem that there's something in this 'natural gardening' lark.  Incidentally one of the pair looked rather portly round the middle so we might possibly be gaining a third leaf muncher later in the summer.

Enjoy your day, whichever country you happen to be in, and I trust those who are ailing will see some recovery in their health and that of their loved one.

Beautiful sunny day in sunny Teignmouth. Not as hot as my cousin in Beverley, Mass who is recording temps in the 90's, or the cousin in Sacramento who is expecting the temp to soar suddenly by 30° imminently.

Reading about Embraers, Boeing's, extra seats, Quadrapuffs, 777w's etc am I wrong just getting on a plane to go from A to B just to reach the destination? Should I be more concerned?

I do get anxious about whether I have a seat res in time or whether my luggage weighs more on the airlines scales than if does at home.

Do you mean a  Declaration of Trust for tenants in common? Or is it something else?

One thing to watch, apart from any tax implications, if you are transferring any element of ownership or, by Declaration of Trust, a financial benefit on sale of the property is that the such benefit on the part of the offspring is likely to become part of their assets and is thus an area where potential loss is possible in the event of a relationship break up.  If that is the case with such a Declaration a solicitor should have advised you accordingly.
