Matelot
During the last week I received a kit from Cambrian. A Christmas present from me to me. It contains very fine chain. I asked them if they could supply it seperately. They replied that they were short of it themselves but did give me details of where I can order it, for which I'm very thankful. The firm is Weinert Modellbau of Görlitz(http://www.modell-ba...id=3366&sort=3a). If you can't read German you can use Yahoo Babelfish or Google Translate. You will need to set up an account and pay by PayPal. It's not the easiest of websites to navigate around so I did my search using the part numbers given to me by Cambrian. These are 26-9318 for 0.25mm chain and 26-9319 for 0.30mm chain. Now I can model my shunting horse. Good luck and Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous new year. RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted December 26, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 26, 2010 Thanks for that, I am not looking for chain but it is useful for other bits and pieces. I noticed that the Faller road system is a lot cheaper, even with 19% VAT!
Kenton
Fine chain (good for holding down loads on flats or for 7mm gauge wagon door clasps also available from Langley Miniature Models (without translation, having to set up an account or translate into English)
Guest baldrick25
Try charity shops in their 'costume' jewellery department. I took a small sample around Coventry a couple of weeks back , explained that I only wanted chain, and asked if they had any broken/ damaged etc. I came away with pocketful of stuff about 00 gauge for a couple of quid. Ideal for tying down containers and loads on lowmacs etc.

Jenny Emily
Lots of necklaces have really fine looking chains. I get replacements from jewellers for only a few pounds. They come in blingy colours, but can be resprayed.

Is this really what is on offer? - because if it is its way finer than any of the other linked products mentioned in subsequent postings. Regards, John Isherwood.
