edcayton
Has anyone done this yet? and if so is there an article anywhere? or is it likely that Bachmann will produce an rtr one? I think that this sub-class are the most elegant freight loco's and would love to have one. Ed
Horsetan
Not only has it been done already, but the same builder has also done another conversion to a Thompson O1! Details in the latest Great Central Railway society's journal, which I think is called "Forward". I read the relevant issue in a branch of Ian Allan, Waterloo a couple of weeks ago. RMweb Gold A Murphy Posted February 22, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 22, 2011 If you follow this link to the LNER society, http://www.lner.info...193552edb4f37cf and scroll down, all will be revealed. Excellent work it is too. Hope I'm not breaking any rules posting this? Now, wouldn't it be wonderful if Grafar would take an unsubtle hint and produce the 04 in N gauge? Imagine the fun (and extra sales for them ) we could have with that and the excellent B1? Alastair
Michael Delamar
Can the Bachmann GWR version be used or is it best to use the Robinson version? Only thing I can see is the step in a different position.
Horsetan
Can the Bachmann GWR version be used or is it best to use the Robinson version? Only thing I can see is the step in a different position. The GW version has the correct sized widened section over the cylinders. The Robinson variant is too long in that area.
