RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted March 19, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 19, 2011 Presumably it will be followed by a Hornby rendering of an iron ore tippler in bright pink with a load of scale bunting at the 'special price of only' £20.11 (because it will be the best way of them clearing stocks of their new over-priced wagon), next year they'll be doing an 'Olympic Special' BR Standard brakevan (for the same reason)
Edwin_m
Probably some truth in that. I suspect Peco were landed with stocks of their MGR wagon when Farish brought out an arguably better one about the same time.
coachmann
Prince of WALES...COAL hopper.... geddit. What next, William & Kate doggy bags?

Edwin_m
That might cut it for the Charles and Di wagon - there was at least a Prince of Wales Colliery once - but William isn't the Prince of Wales!
RMweb Gold Phil Bullock Posted March 19, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 19, 2011 Any excuse to get on the merry-go-round! Phil
caradoc
Presumably this model becomes available on the 1st April ?....... What a complete and utter waste of Peco's time and effort.
caradoc
And another thing; Shouldn't there be corresponding 'Royal Divorce Commemorative Wagons', presented in scrap condition, to diversify and enhance the discerning nutter's collection ?
RMweb Premium Flying Pig Posted March 19, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 19, 2011 I can't decide if this is genuine royal wedding tat or if there is a republican stronghold in Devon and this is mocking the usual toadying crap. I'd stick with the former if I were you, Paul. The cognitive dissonance resulting from trying to believe that someone at Peco has a sense of humour would keep a therapist busy for years. Guest dilbert
Well looks like Woolies was 4 years too early - maybe the anticipation of selling tat contributed to their demise (end 2008) ... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/6156856.stm
Tricky-CRS
It's wrong anyway as the official monogram is CW not WC, to avoid toilet humour.
Sailor Charon
Can I just say that my brain has imploded. The word 'why' keeps alternating with Noooo! Or, if you prefer Do not want!!

Rumblestripe
I had one of those Princess Di hopper wagons. Completely useless... it crashed every time it went through a tunnel... Sorry, couldn't resist.
Bilbo
This is the West Wales Wagon Works offering- please note its a Gunpowder Van http://www.westwaleswagonworks.co.uk/shop_112281/prod_1207492-No-95-Middleton-of-Windsor.html
Etched Pixels
I think I'll avoid that, its a particularly disgusting shade of purple even if you redecal it for something more interesting. Still probably more tactful than a special edition Noch 'lovers and bed' set Now A Fawkes & Co. gunpowder van would be more interesting, or perhaps some "Prince of Wales, my .....' graffiti for Welsh layouts. orcadian
I don't want to spoil the fun, but there's nothing about this on the peco-uk.com website. Is someone having a very clever joke? This may be the second oxymoron involving Peco this month - I saw a headline about Peco and an innovation in reports of the Germany model trade show, now humour from Beer? Whatever next? 00 scale track? Or might they re-issue the Jubilee for 60th anniversary of HM's enthronement? I really must take the tablets and lay down again!
