Neilgue
This is a about 3 miles of the line in 3 minutes from Torsonce just south of Stow to Halkburn north for Galashiels and another 3 back. Just 33 to go to capture the whole line. No prizes for spotting the livery discontinuities, they would decide to use one of the few 158 in the old livery. Shot over 4 days. Looks great! The sheep seem to be getting used to the trains now.

fegguk
Another short video featuring a location on the Borders Railway and how it has changed over the last year on so. This times it's the interchange at Galashiels Station. It hopefully shows how the site has developed over the last year. Plus some info on what it does. https://youtu.be/PGTz9PMz8X8

RMweb Premium Legend Posted July 31, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 31, 2015 Looking forward to having a day out in September. Like others a bit puzzled by the deliberate planting of foliage so close to the line. But it's great to see a link restored. Galashiels station looks a bit spartan , however. 62440
Interesting little snippet from the Clan Borthwick site! http://www.clanborthwick.com/biog_hb.htm QE II train to halt at Fountainhall??? Bruce In an obituary in the Scotsman of Henry Borthwick in 1937, the following paragraph was included " Mr Borthwick was Laird of Glengelt, holding this grant of land direct from the crown. A condition is that the owner should present a white rose to the Royal Sovereign when he passed that way, and this condition has been honoured on several occasions. Once the train conveying Queen Victoria was stopped at Fountainhall Station in order that Mr Borthwick predecessor should present a bouquet of roses"
NBR906
Could really post this under "Guess the location" but should not take you long to work out where this was taken recently! Had one of the 158s with the original PIS system and could not resist the temptation to set an appropriate destination. Mind you, had to point it out after arrival as no-one had noticed. (Reverse screen was perhaps more appropriate - "Mystery Tour")
