'CHARD
Hi there! Looks an ambitious plan of a busy place! There's no scale on the sketch, how long and wide are you working in? You obviously like your roads too - are the buses crossing the depot tracks on the level? EDIT: you also say you need some advice. Can you be any more specific? witherbrow
i quite like this it gives everything a sort of 'frame' will watch with interest
RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted June 8, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 8, 2011 You wouldn't need the signalbox in a depot, all the points would be locally worked, hth

I need some advice as to the the track layout where the fuel points are, and other stuff like what will make it better. It's about 4ft by 2ft
lordhinton
if it 4ft x 2ft you may not be able to have the track layout as it is, one 66 is around 11" long so this would need to be swapped, maybe if you removed some roads and had it parrelel to the station? dan

How would you move the locos around? It's all road................ Best, Pete.
Jack westwood
It looks like a great Idea but doesnt seem to be alot of space to run trains really. Also i Just looked on FMLs website and I was shocekd. There mearly other companys products with a tacky out of date frieghtliner sticker slaped over the top!

Just in case you wondered, FML also has the following disclaimer which caused me to LOL of the out loud variety: PLEASE NOTE: FML does not stand for it's 'slang' meaning which is **** my life. bachmanndiesellover
Hi One class 66 fits perfectly in the shed so that's that. The image is not that accurate but it's the best i could do. I'll upload some pictures of it so far later!
Arpleymodeller
Looks like a good layout plan, I look forward to seeing it progress, Regards Lewis

Indeed. Looking at FML's layout it seems to have a remarkable similarity to that of the OP - http://fml.web.officelive.com/MapofLayout.aspx At this point it's pertinent to ask the OP to abide by the site's rules with regard to commercial postings. Maybe the product range should be retitled FMB and FMW (B for buildings and W for wagons)?

I think the HSE would have a few comments under the Safety at Work Act, Pete. To leave the office for the shed you have to cross an A-road or a bus route! I reckon the fitters' life expectancy is cruelly curtailed in this corner of Yorkshire!

There mearly other companys products with a tacky out of date frieghtliner sticker slaped over the top! Some of the loco repaints and weathering looks good.... http://fml.web.offic...leases2011.aspx.... ...photos look a little familiar though.... http://www.oliviastr...6/Bachman_57306 http://www.oliviastr...chmann_class_57 http://www.oliviastr...7011_drs_livery http://www.oliviastr...hmann_66050_EWS http://www.oliviastr...ages/1845/70006 The poor chap seem to be having his own work undercut there... Actually you'd have to go out the back door, catch a Bus at the Bus Stop to the Station - walk the length of the platform, onto the tracks turn left and et Voila! Sorry we shouldn't do this, my apologies....... Best, Pete.
bachmanndiesellover
I got my ideas from FML's layout, I've really only got a simple Hornby loop at the top end. There are going to be traffic lights for crossing the road- have not forgotten! FML did the sheds and office for me, basically all I did was email asking them about an add i'd seen on their website saying about converting skaledale and scenecraft into branded buildings for only £2 + P+P so I jumped at the opportunity and this was about a 2 years ago, before they were on web, so that's probably why its dated on their website - they maybe didn't update it? OMG!!!... I know my layout looks alot like FML's only mine's probably better! And the locos (57006, & 57007) I bought off the second-hand rail from FML! They have them in stock again I think? If anybody wanted one.... mines going to be weathered!

Andy Y
FML did the sheds and office for me, Do they do refunds?
Andy Y
Funny that, FML's layout plan suddenly seems to have gone from their website. Now as the OP has told us that he isn't FML I'm sure he won't mind me saying that far better deals can be had elsewhere and it's probably better to not not buy anything which Stevie Wonder put the transfers on. bachmanndiesellover
was that a joke or not? Yeh, i think they do - there was nothing wrong with mine though. I had a look on the webpage and it said 404 'not found'?
bachmanndiesellover
Anyway, has anybody checked out the cheapness of locos on ehattons nowadays! I mean £40 for a ViTrains Mainline or a Freightliner class 37 /47 isa bargain!
'CHARD
C'mon son, you can do better than that. Ooh look over there, it's a puppy!
kintbury jon
Maybe the product range should be retitled FMB and FMW (B for buildings and W for wagons)? So Andy, do you need Viagra to get through a full rake of wagons?
