Turin 60
Hello folks, I have aquired a Silver Fox body which gives me a question to ask. What would be the best primer for the resin body once I've stripped off the remains of the existing paint? Over to those in the know! Thanks in advance John. Xerces Fobe2
Hi John Halfords auto primer should do the job, either grey or red oxide depending on what the final colour is. Xerces Fobe
RMweb Premium Mike Bellamy Posted June 28, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 28, 2011 Hi John Halfords auto primer should do the job, either grey or red oxide depending on what the final colour is. Xerces Fobe Agreed - Phil Traxson (Port Wynnstay Models) who makes 7mm Narrow Gauge kits and commercial castings in resin for other retailers uses Halfords Grey. RMweb Gold Graham_Muz Posted June 29, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 29, 2011 I have always Halfords Plastic Primer on all my resin based models which has worked extremely well. I was surprised to find that on some of the Silver Fox own ready to run models that they sell they dont appear to use a primer at all! I certaily would not recommend that (especially as I found the hard way when applying some weathering!)
