RMweb Premium Craig Watson Posted October 1, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 1, 2011 If you want to see the layout in the flesh get yourself along to Bonnybridge this weekend, the layout is well stocked to say the least:-) Cheers Craig
Jon Gwinnett
Can't wait - hoping to roll up later this morning. Since its so well stocked you probably don't need them, but I can lend a CP AC440CW or GP38-2 to the mix if required. Cheers
RMweb Premium Craig Watson Posted October 1, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 1, 2011 The layout ran well all day, lots of motive power variety too:-) Looking forward to tomorrow too. Hopefully see you all there. Cheers Craig
RMweb Premium Craig Watson Posted February 22, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 22, 2013 Just a wee heads up that New Westminster is appearing at Model Rail Scotland this weekend, come along and say hi to Donny and myself if you're visiting! RMweb Gold TravisM Posted May 19, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 19, 2014 Really nice layout but what happened to the huge layout based in Minneapolis and did I spy several items of rolling stock and loco's I sold you lol. Nice to see a few names from when I was living in bonny Scotland. Can you say hi from me. The track bed on mine is nearly finished and will post some pictures of the progress when I get a chance. RMweb Premium Craig Watson Posted May 23, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 23, 2014 Ian, you asked what types of freight cars would be found around New Westminster. Here’s a small selection from there last Sunday. There were lots of boxcars around – I took pictures of a couple. First is a ‘Catalyst’ hi-cube car with SRY reporting marks. ‘Catalyst’ produce paper products such as newsprint. IMG_0617.JPG Maybe a wee project for New Westminster's outing to Perth in June, this arrived on the layout tonight! Cheers Craig
brassbeast
Hi Ian, layout is terrific and must confess I was also looking at it but alas if your not first your last lol, I did not manage to get and see it when you showed it at Glasgow and wondered if you had done anything with the depot as in my own view it seemed out of place and prohibited another industry. Cheers Laurence PS when is its next outing?
RMweb Premium Craig Watson Posted August 1, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 1, 2018 Hi all, New Westminster will be making it's next public appearance at the St Andrews exhibition on the 11th and 12th of August. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/135211-st-andrews-exhibition-11th-and-12th-of-august-2018/ Unfortunately Ian will be offshore at work so it's me in charge for the weekend! The layout will be running with some of the smaller locos from the West Pickering fleet so plenty of CN action will be the order of the day, full sound too! Hopefully we'll see some of you there. RMweb Premium newbryford Posted August 1, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 1, 2018 Just found this layout thread...… Nice work Plenty of likes for ph's New Westminster photos - I was there about 15 months ago and recognised a lot of the locations. The pictures around the bridge made sense of what I could see when driving past. Quite a few roads that I had driven along (and parked up in the above pic) in my quick search of the area. Couldn't stay around too long as I had Mrs NB with me and she was allowing me a bit of "railway time" as I was doing all the driving for the few days that we were there. RMweb Premium Craig Watson Posted August 16, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 16, 2018 So we had another successful outing with New Westminster to St Andrews exhibition last weekend. The layout went down really well, when we were there last year with West Pickering we were amazed when a passing tourist decided to visit the show and announced to us that she lived in the area the layout is based on, well it happened again this year with a visitor telling us she was from the real New Westminster! Some pics of the layout in action below, as Donny was working offshore the layout was stocked by myself and Simon (gridwatcher) so there were a few of the West Pickering regulars running over the weekend. Wendell1976
Ian, you have a nice layout of the Vancouver, British Columbia area. Vancouver is a beautiful city with a lot of similarities compared to Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon here in The States. Keep up the good work!
