Craigw
Nearly finished the build of my Tamiya Pz.Kpfw IV Ausf F. I replaced the two MG34 with Aber turned offerings as they are so much better (albeit at a price). The link and length tracks are very good and quite easy to assemble. I thinned a few pieces down but the whole kit is very nice. In a couple more days I will start painting. Having a good time, a change does one good! Hi Barry, I have been away from Aircraft Modelling lately - focusing on Railway Modelling - so haven’t really seen the Trumpeter kit in the flesh. I have a couple of Airfix 1:48 Sea Vixen FAW2 kits in the stash along with an Alley Cat resin FAW1 conversion set that I may get round to... Cheers Darius I have always wondered why we don't see more vac-formed kits in railway modelling. Ideal for short runs and small producers. Here in France, there are even vac-formed car bodies at 1:1 scale. 2 1
BernardTPM
There were a few building kits in the 1970s (e.g. Formacraft) and the Davric Leyland Tiger bus was a combination of injection moulded chassis/radiator with a vac-formed body, but they were relatively uncommon. Roxey mouldings coach kits originally had vacuum formed parts - roof, panelled sides, etc. 2
