DAS clay

Hi just need a bit of advice on the DAS Modeling clay, namely how does it bond to your modeling surfaces I am using plywood as a base. Like plaster on walls you generally use a PVA primer/ bonding agent for plaster to key to does DAS need a similar PVA primer/ bonding layer to key to. I dont want to open my packets and find I have to go buy another product mid project?

Pva glue certainly helps as the clay isn't sticky enough to bond by itself on wood. I've used it extensively with woodland scenics rock moulds too and thats with it bonded to polystyrene with pva.

I used PVA to bond it to the baseboard when using it as a ground cover - that's what Chris Nevard told me to do

David Wright of Dovedale Models has produced a DVD about using DAS for buildings and has run demonstrations at shows (but not yet in Florida!). There is an extract from the DVD available to view on his web site here
