Backtor
Hello all, Been a while since i've posted any updates on the layout, work has been busy on the layout. Had a bit of a running session Sunday just to check everything worked after the ballasting. Scenery has now started and all the track has been weathered. Comments are welcome, some backscenes need fitting on the end 2 boards but they are the next job, and then its to start on the wiring of all the point motors and control panel! Backtor
Thanks for the comments. Sorry for the lack of updates. I'll post some more pictures sometime this week. Went to the Stafford show on Saturday, and came away with a Digitrains Class 56 Sound chip, and a Loadhaul 56 Body. I've now fitted them and have to say am really impressed with the quality of the chip. Spent Sunday fitting a light to the station although need to tone them down as they are a bit bright? Any idea's welcome. Progress has been slow as work has been getting in the way abit, but got a few days off end of this week so hoping to get all the backboards finished. Also been working on the bridge area around the station putting the wall and embankment in. Next job is to do the otherside of the road where the ramp drops down into the Car-park, will take some pictures of this progressing as work is carried out. Regards, Cameron
A1X
a Loadhaul 56 Body. i think i no where you got this from its the same place that i got my lima 60 ! was it the shop with all the spares?
Black Sheep
very nice Cameron, only thing i can suggest is that the ballast needs some weathering, you can do it with cans or an airbrush or even powders, will add another dimension to your track work. do you spray the railmatch paint to get the rust colour on the track before or after balasting?
Backtor
"do you spray the railmatch paint to get the rust colour on the track before or after balasting" I sprayed mine after I'd ballasted as when you apply the ballast you cover up what your spraying onto the boards anyway. Hope that is of some help. Anyway last couple of days have been productive, as I stated in the previous post. Also included a picture of the 56 I bought from Staffords show. Wasnt very happy with the shade of the grass that we had on the layout, thought that it was far to "Toy-Train" like, and after spending some time looking at the layouts at the show at Stafford decided I'd see if it was salvageable. I've attached a couple of shots of the newer shade of grass. Also been working hard on the station area, and have attached a couple of pictures of the new embankment, which was made out of a mixture of Balsa wood, Polystyrene and Card. On one side is a sloping embankment, and on the other is a redbrick wall which runs flush with the end of the sidings. Comments are welcome! Backtor
Thanks James, thinks it looks a lot less toy like!, And also as an answer to your earlier question, which I somehow missed! Yeah they did come from that spares shop, managed to get it farely cheaply! Regards, Cameron

muddy water
Great layout! I have something similar on the go as well. How is the stone going to get to the loader? Over head conveyor belt?
Backtor
I'm back! Progress has been slow on the layout but we're finally starting to pick it up again. Made the decision a couple of months ago, that we were gonna go DCC points, as aposed to the traditional methods available. I've ordered a Lenz LS150 today which hopefully should be here tomorrow for installing! Been focusing on getting the backboards around the depot area finished. We've now started scenery on this board. I've attached a couple of pictures but they're low quality as taken on my phone. Will take some hi-res ones when i have chance to get my Camera out! But you get the idea! Comments always welcome! Kindest Regards, Cameron!
