Class 37181 - info and photos needed

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I am currently renumbering some of my class 37's for my layout based on Par, and having just finished 37207 and 37206, I am moving onto my next project - 37181.

I have found a few pictures but I would like to model the loco as it was with the uncut buffer beam in the early 80's.

Does anyone have any photos of this loco and if so, did it carry the Lizzie the lizard emblems and did it have snow ploughs?

Any help and photos greatly appreciated!

Best regards,

Jeremy

Jeremy,

If you want a 37 with 'uncut' bufferbeam and the Cornish Lizard there was only one 37185.

Apparently only 3 locos carried the Cornish railways logo 37181, 37185 and 37207.

I was fortunate to catch all 3 over a weekend in early September 1984

And a few years later with skirts removed at Lostwithiel

Craig

I think your first picture is 37185 (note round head buffers and skirts and Cornish logo)

Second is 37181. (Oval buffers no skirts)
