Owd Bob
SP. Wigan in about 1984. Maybe someone knew this fellow? I can just see a tops style number 7619 below the window and underneath the Blue paint.
w124bob
Here's a very weary looking class 50, despite the D411 showing it's actually 1979 at Reading. He might look in his early 50's but the western had alot of ageing drivers, keeping gents like this back as passed men for years. I'm currently copying this weathering in 4mm.

RMweb Gold big jim Posted July 22, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 22, 2018 Which all largely and eloquently explains why I left the railway. The dereliction, the wasted resources, the management that was determined to close whatever it could; it all made me permanently angry, and that's no way to live your life. don't worry BR lives on in Colas, that one quote sums up how i'm feeling at the moment so time to get out

stewartingram
Not quite railway, but Blackpool tramway, North Pier stop 02/09/2017. Elf & Safety at work. Note the number of Security Jobsworths (6?) on the platform, and the barriers. We were forced to wait on the right, until the tram came to a stop, then they refused to move the barriers and made us squeeze between the barrier and the tram. And the queue size wasn't much longer (apart from me joining it) by then. Crazy. Stewart

RMweb Premium HillsideDepot Posted July 23, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 23, 2018 A few from Saturday; first observers of the railway The Royal Albert Bridge linking Kernow and England (during the Saltash station stop the chap in the photo arranged with me that he'd take a couple of shots, then duck inside to let me get mine) Enthusiasts throng the platforms at Exeter St Davids. Who says railways are no longer interesting? The serious task of HST trailer number taking at Exeter St Davids Secondly a few railway staff going about their business. RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted July 24, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 24, 2018 Coach F next to Coach K? By my counting K is 11th in the alphabet. How many coaches are they putting between HST DMBs these days? 7 or 8 on GWR sets K is adjacent to E on a 7 car set and adjacent to F on an 8 car set it being a (now permanently declassified) vehicle in some sets but still 1st class (hence K - adjacent to L) in a few sets.
