Rugd1022
Don't worry Nidge the skirt is on the "to do" list, think there was a missunderstanding on some measurements. There are numerous tweaks being done. Don't forget that this was a totally new CAD, it has nothing to do with the 4mm one which was done before before the current team was in place. Cheers mate, good to hear that 'Western fever**' has well and truly struck again this last week or two, the usual books, magazines and slides have come to the top of the pile again and seeing how this lovely looking model is progressing is the icing on the cake... ** no known cure for this ailment apparently...! brian daniels
Well here are some pictures of the Western MkII. They done all that was asked apart adding the bufferbeam beading along the top edge. I will take a picture of the insides when I strip it down for painting in maroon as I think someone asked if there was room for a smoke unit in it. brian daniels
Well I have got some paint for this now so who knows what Westerns were maroon with full yellow ends? I am painting the 40 first though, green full yellow ends as 40035.

brian daniels
I quite like them with full yellow ends, Heljan will do a half yellow one so I think it will be nice to see how it looks with a full yellow end.
two tone green
Hi CME, may be but when, years away but only hot air at the moment. Talk is cheap, a real one costs money. Hi Brian, it will look good whatever version of maroon you do. The smoke option is interesting as ESU are releasing their new unit and having got my sticky mitts on one its looking for a home. I suspect the 31 will get it though but knowing what to do without melting the body will help. Fully programmable as well supported by the ESU Lokprogrammer. Is very promising. deltic17
Brian (I know this is the Western thread - so my apologies) but it's a shame HJ haven't gone for more locos BR green with full yellow ends RTR so far as it would be popular in my eyes - especially re 40106 & 40122 + many others from say 1968/69?->1975 & later.... That Western looks the part to me by the way....will be really interesting to see it with a full yellow end.
