ginger j
I have a cunning plan. So, I hear you cry, what is your plan? My plan is to create an anthem for the hobby of Railway Modeling. But it will only work with your co-operation. All you need to do is to write a verse for the anthem and they will all be put together to create The Anthem of The Railway Modelers/RMweb.co.uk. It does not matter how long each verse is but please no one word verses please. Minumum of five words sounds reasnobale to me but feel free to make them as long as sensibly possible. Please Note that all posts may be subjet to slight tweaks to make them flow smoothly. Thank you for your help. Get Writing!

Ashcombe
Quickly penned this limerick:- Railway modellers come in all sizes. Building layouts that attract few despisers. They model with passion; Sans regard for fashion And many are quite "Early Risers"! No copyright attached to this contribution!!

ginger j
Sorry about the delay-teatime! Yes I did finish the homework. And now, with a few minor tweaks and additions I present the progress so far. Railway modellers come in all sizes. Building layouts that attract few despisers. They model with passion; Sans regard for fashion And many are quite Early Risers! Time flies by when I'm the modeller of trains, and I chat on RM Web for hours upon end Time flies by as a modeller of trains soldering the footplate, then doing it again overbridges underbridges, plasticard or wooden, puffer brush the undergrowth there's so much to the scene Passengers, paving and the scenes at a station when I get them working then the signals will be green in the tunnel through the cutting cleaning rails on the track wheezing pistons smoking chimneys DCC can do all that Time flies by when I'm the modeller of trains, and I chat on RM Web for hours upon end All hail ye RMWebber, Let none his woes Compound For tis nearly Christmas Let Froth and Foam Abound! Will Steam be on his Wish-list Or D&E I wonder Will there be the usual leaks To blow our boilers sunder! Time flies by when I'm the modeller of trains, and I chat on RM Web for hours upon end Red black or green what ever you mean to paint your loco we will still be vocal what ever your gauge we still be the rage we might not always see eye to eye but we still want to paint the sky Thank you too all those who have posted. Heres some advice for you all-keep sending in the good work! (sorry about previous post-people kept adding as i was trying to write this) Oh, and two line verses are unfortuantly not to be used in the finished piece. If you want your verse included please could I suggest a minnimum of 3 lines? Thank you once again for your participation

34theletterbetweenB&D
And did those tracks in ancient time, extend on England's mountains green? And was the loco of Stephenson on England's pleasant pastures seen? And did the network so develop, to roam among the clouded hills? And did some twit introduce a diesel among those dark satanic mills? Bring me my layout room so large! Bring me my framing and baseboards! Bring me my tracks! O plans unfold! Bring me the layout of desire! I will not cease from building trains, nor shall my models cease to move, till we have built in model form, the glorious rail network that was.
