JCClark
Hi Lee As usual - your thread is brilliant and I love the variety of liveries you turn out. Are you using a lining pen for your cantrails now. I am very interested in your re-wiring of the Hornby 56 chassis - any chance of a more detailed explanation as I have the same problem John

blueeighties
It's been one hell of a busy week. We start with some weathering. 011 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 019 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 014 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 020 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Nose seams added, daft grey stripes removed, yellow ends and bodysides repainted, and weathered. Tidy Peak! 006 by rothburyuk, on Flickr A quartet of grids. In the second picture,on the left we have my 006, which I have finally got around to making new handrails for. The main underwindscreen one being curved, and having 4 fixing points is quite tricky. Made it from .5mm brass wire. On the right is the standard plastic one for comparison. 025 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 027b by rothburyuk, on Flickr Some of Gateshead's finest passing through the bench. 042 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 039 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Losing track of how many Blyth Power's I have done now! 044 by rothburyuk, on Flickr New Shawplan rooffans and other numerous bits and pieces make a huge improvement. 051 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 033 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 035 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Some nice 7mm goodies. 059 by rothburyuk, on Flickr New bufferbeams. 062 by rothburyuk, on Flickr The original Heljan cab footsteps. 070 by rothburyuk, on Flickr And the replacement Pete Harvey ones. 067 by rothburyuk, on Flickr The final bit for the 7mm Western I have been waiting for, part winded headcode blind transfers. blueeighties
A sunny day for a change, and a chance for a couple of pictures in the garden A Bacchy 25 ready for customer collection. This was a 25095, so the strange bottom front cab black edge has been removed, front ends repainted. Water tanks removed, flushglaze fitted, andsome nice fine Shawplan wiper blades. Domino headcodes. Oh yes, and the weathering. 035 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 039 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 045 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 050 by rothburyuk, on Flickr The Western completed, headcodes and everything! 029 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 006 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 012 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 024 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 003 by rothburyuk, on Flickr This is a Bachmann class 45 which was brought in to me with very poor running, and a very sloppy light/sound installation.I just ripped everything out, and started a fresh install. blueeighties
They are rather sexy aren't they Anybody fancy a pair of these? Watched a set go for over £500 on Ebay a short while ago. Madness. Or should I say Hornby madness....customers are screaming for them. Been asked to do 8 sets in the last 2 weeks. 076 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 082 by rothburyuk, on Flickr
GRUNFOS
Hi Lee, Hope you don't mind a couple of pics of 40 057 you supplied me with.I have blackened the buffer beams and added discs. If you remember you sent me your own personal model as you remembered it but my timescale is a few years earlier, pre red beams. I think it really shows up the incredible work you did on green model. Thanks again Paul.

Norm81
Got some of my stock back from Lee on Friday, so took a few pics. The 08 has sound and lights and was bought a while ago, again from Lee: The cargowaggon is a thing of beauty, crying out for a load though.

blueeighties
And here it is. As nice a model as they are, the first batch of Bachmann retooled split headcode 40's have had their fair share of issues. This is another one with a problematic main pcb, causing issues with the lighting and sound chip. Simplest solution is to discard the board, and hard wire a chip in. Bit trickier this one as the soundchip is a 21 pin. 003a by rothburyuk, on Flickr So, I employed one of these very useful little jobbies. It's an ESU 21 pin breakout board, you plug the 21 pin chip into it, and can then hardwire using the new flyleads. It also has the advantage of allowing the use of additional auxillary functions if the chip has them. 017 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 018 by rothburyuk, on Flickr The initial messy installation whilst setup and testing takes place. 016 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Tidied up somewhat. The unconnected feeds are for the cab lights and speaker. Another advantage of binning the circuit board is that there is a little bit more space to get a bigger speaker in, in this case an Alan Butcher 20x40. We now have individual control of each loco ends tail lights and cab lights. 019 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Another sounds installation today, a pair of Bachmann 20's. Even though these use the small circular speakers, the narrow bodies mean that some butchery work with a file is required to get the speakers in. They sound very good when in and sealed. I standardise on Legoman's excellent chips thesedays. 012 by rothburyuk, on Flickr A few more to work through! 032 by rothburyuk, on Flickr A personal favourite of mine, 47541 The Queen Mother. A bit of weathering, detailing added at one end, including some nice etched ploughs. And etched nameplates. Just the job. 022 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 025 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 026 by rothburyuk, on Flickr This weeks new arrivals undergoing preparation. 030 by rothburyuk, on Flickr Edited April 22, 2015 by blueeighties

Seems a lot more mustard than the railmatch 1202 pre 84 warning panel yellow Hi Rob. Bachmann produce a new variation of warning yellow with every new release. I have never tried matching it as they are always so far out, I always repaint using Precision.
