blueeighties
Here is a Heljan 37 that it passing through works. It's to be 37081, 'Loch Long' in 80's large logo guise. Jobs so far on the body have been.... Remove the unrefurbished bufferbeam skirts and add new lower bodyside edge lipping fill in the bodyside steps and panels replace the rather crude and incorrectly sized radiator roof panel/grille with the Shawplan etching Add the additional cantrail grille dividing bars 034 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 033 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 032 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 011 (2) by rothburyuk, on Flickr 007 (2) by rothburyuk, on Flickr 002 (2) by rothburyuk, on Flickr

blueeighties
Where has this week gone? Thursday already by flip..... Some 2mm stuff. Never done loads of it, but this is my last batch. I'm too busy with 4 and 7mm stuff these days. Glad as well, 4mm is bad enough on the ever poorer eyesight. 007 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 018 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 015 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 039 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 024 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 037 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 023 by rothburyuk, on Flickr And a complete rarity, not only 2mm, but a kettle as well! Light weathering, etched plates, and real coal for this mini me Tornado. 028 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 033 by rothburyuk, on Flickr A trio of 4mm 26's which have just been detailed and weathered. HealeyMills
Hi Lee, The workload seems to be getting higher... and the quality of the finish is still superb. I have no idea how you do it!! When you do the refurbished class 26's, do you adjust the window shape at all? ( https://6lda.wordpress.com/test-history/26038d5338/ ) Cheers Lee
blueeighties
Hi Lee, The workload seems to be getting higher... and the quality of the finish is still superb. I have no idea how you do it!! When you do the refurbished class 26's, do you adjust the window shape at all? ( https://6lda.wordpress.com/test-history/26038d5338/ ) Cheers Lee Cheers. Funnily enough I have calmed things down a bit the last few months, the workload is at it's lowest amount for quite a while. Still a lot to do though. What exactly is the difference with the window shape? I have noticed it, but can't quite put my finger on what it is.
HealeyMills
What exactly is the difference with the window shape? I have noticed it, but can't quite put my finger on what it is. Hi Lee, Ignore me... I'm having a senior moment The refurbished locos had a curved fillet put into the window corners to allow the window rubbers to be fitted. Prior to the refurbishment the windows were quite square by comparison. Cheers Lee

RMweb Gold 55020 Posted June 21, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 21, 2016 Hi Lee, Apologies if you've covered this elsewhere in your thread, but I'm interested in knowing if the "lots of detailing bits" are standard Heljan items or if you source them from somewhere else. Thanks Steve

dj_crisp
Hi Lee Loads of great projects and I always enjoy reading your thread! Those 26s look fantastic. One tip I've learnt installing laserglaze is to use a black marker pen around the edge of the laserglaze which removes light refraction from the egdes. Hope that helps Will
