RMweb Gold JohnR Posted December 24, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 24, 2012 Theres nothing stopping you from modelling a wagon in a made up livery.... "this is what it could have looked like".... after all, it's your railway.
Rail-Online
Martin, Try and get to see a 'Kelly's Directory' for Warrington for the period he was trading. These list all business's and their trading names by occupation. They are often available from the local ref library. That will give you a business address and a definate 'start' to researching. RMweb Premium jamie92208 Posted December 24, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 24, 2012 Another source might well be adverts in local newspapers from the period. I managed to find one set of liverey details from an advert in an old Methodist Chapel circuit newsletter from the period in question. It might still be worthwhile trying to find an old established coal merchant in the area dn going into the office and asking questions. Jamie
The Q
I too would be very interested in a PDF of the book, I'm trying to gather information on all the wagons in my area, and the book looks as though it would form a very useful source of information. With great Thanks if you can manage to find the time to scan it. The Q
