iankemp
If memory serves me right, the 3 lines were installed to release that line so the locos could go straight through and not have to go through the wash plant. I was told this by someone who worked at Toton.
Grimleygrid
Hi Dave, well hopefully in a few years’ time it will at least be finished! Thanks Ian, it certainly makes it easier for the locos going off shed from those three sidings. Thanks for the info.

Grimleygrid
I have just opened my parcel and all I can say is: photo by AP474, on Flickr Mr Horn has yet again delivered, thank you Sir! Grimleygrid
I do like receiving parcels! image by AP474, on Flickr A few photos of the laser cutting that Tim kindly did for me: The last few pieces for the depot floor, including walks ways for out the front of the shed (north end) and the concrete area which surrounds the lathe pit. I am especially pleased with the two pieces that sit around the wheel lathe pit. image by AP474, on Flickr You can see that some of the pieces have had holes cut out for the I and H support girders, great job Mr Horn! I didn’t get a chance to take any photos of the floor pieces placed on the depot board, hopefully this evening I will be able to do that. The light at the end of the tunnel is getting ever brighter!
P.C.M
Hi Alex, Sidings yes. If you have the room. Nameplate. Very nice. Did any class 50s turn up at Toton back in the day. Cheers Peter.
Grimleygrid
Hi Peter, Thanks, I do have the room and so it won’t make a huge difference. As people have said, more room for more locos! Yes the nameplate is superb! No pun intended….. Funnily enough I found this on Flickr just the other day: 50 015 " VALIANT " at Toton on 4-02-87 by Fred Castor, on Flickr Some others here: https://flic.kr/p/pAWRCZ https://flic.kr/p/b5UUd2 https://flic.kr/p/nheekx I can confirm that this beast will be making an appearance at Boxenby and in that condition! 50036 at Paddington by winterbournecm, on Flickr My favourite Hoover…..

I passed them on to my Father and he was very pleased and asked me to pass on his thanks to you, much appreciated. If we can get ours to be half as good then I will be very pleased. Grimleygrid
Yesterday I got home late from work so wasn’t able to take any photos of the new floor pieces, however I have taken some this evening. class60lover
The photo of 60091 looks fantastic. What impressed me the most was the way the light shines down through and casts shadows on everything. Shedmaster
I'd most definitely HAVE to agree with this post #1841.......what a superb photo ! I notice that your cut outs for the I-beams are actually shaped for these as opposed to a rectangular hole as I have done........these will look bloody fantastic mate, well done. Just so you know, I have three 60's waiting at the peg as 0Z60 SL-TO for wheelset attention.......I can bell them out whenever you're ready Mr G ? They've been sitting around so long they have flat spots in the wheels that need profiling out please ? Kindest Regards, Shed. edited as unable to directly quote post #1841 for some reason........ Jintyman
What a superb picture of the 60 sat by the wheel lathe. I can only duplicate the sentiments of the posters above. This is just a taster of what is to come, so what if the last time you worked on the lathe was 2011, it's obviously working ok, as the pictures speak for themselves. Great work as usual Jinty ;-)

Where is Hornby’s Large Logo class 56?!! This is what is required: https://flic.kr/p/pgihf6 Yes The bottom one is a peach with the red oxide fuel storage tanks a good lineup there and definitely taken onboard - I am finding TOPS Helly 27's hard to source at the moment - one in the pipeline next week which is a start - local retailer has all 6 Green liveried 27's - problem is financially - just bought 40141 to renumber in to 40135 as I drove her on the ELR 12 years back more of a collectable - occasional runner than to go on GUNNSBURN. Haven't done too much modelling recently but seeing these images and your lathe it has kickstarted me into doing a bit. Grimleygrid
Thanks David, I am pleased with how it is coming on although I have been busy recently and unable to make as much progress as I would have liked. I really need to get the floor down!091 is one of my favourite locos, I did like them in Triple Grey with Beastie and large numbers on the front. Thanks Class60lover, the photo was taken over three years ago and will look very different once the floor is down. I am hoping that when finished the light passing into the shed through the skylights will give some nice opportunities for photos. Hi Mr Shedmaster, that is correct, I wanted the I and H section girders to sit nice and firmly in the floor so it made sense to get the holes cut out to the right profile. Hope it works! No problem at all, I think there is a slot available in the next month or so. However, please be aware that if whilst on shed the 60s are checked over and found to have issues, they might remain at Boxenby for attention. After that, I cannot be held responsible for what happens to them!
Grimleygrid
Thanks Jinty, I am pleased with the wheel lathe and conveyor although they need weathering and toning down. But that will be happening soon as I will be installing it permanently when the floor goes down.I must remember that there is no track above the wheel lathe, we don’t want any incidents!
