The original post of that, now massive, thread was: Having seen on here and in magazines recently some truly amazing pictures of models that look so lifelike I thought it would be a good idea to try and get a collection together on here. So the challenge is to post up your pictures of your models, dioramas or layouts that look so lifelike you have to look twice or more to decide. The only computer wizardry allowed is to add steam\smoke or make your pics black and white or sepia to add to the realism. The un-identified Mainline 09 in the back ground has tripped the MOD vans up from Eastleigh, dropped off from the feeder from the hub at Didcot. I heard it was 09007 which had been seen in the area earlier in the week but couldn't get a clear shot from the boundary fence." Taken on a Panasonic Lumix - under one filament, one energy saver - with no Photoshop trickery. Backscene is currently just white paper but will be painted one of these days! Popular Post Sandhills Posted October 10, 2009 Popular Post Share Posted October 10, 2009 Thanks Oldfield_Park, It is natural light, in fact natural backdrop in natural field about a mile away from home ! Taken on a 4x1 plank stood on height adjustable trestles. The overhanging branch of the large tree just behind me in the shot was a fluke ! Not had a sky as good as that to work with since, unfortunately. The close up works quite well too - Had a go with a better quality camera yesterday (below), now if I can just get those weather conditions back at the same time as having the good camera around we should be onto a winner !? Don't know if this shot looks realistic, i guess its a combination of good modelling and photography together to qualify as realistic, certainly my photography is not that good its basic at best.
