Have to say I'm particularly struck by the weathering of the rail and ballast. For me it's usually one of the first giveaways. But looking at those photo's you can almost smell the grime of oil, dirt and decay rising of the ballast!!!

Just taken today on a working weekend for Charwelton-

Those old slides don't half develop colour casts.

Just read the 1st post about adding effects, not a sepia (not on the list for my iPad) but a transfer effect so might have broken the rules, ooops sorry!

It wasn't a criticism. Just a comment on how realistic it looks.

Can you post the original, or a colour corrected one. I think it's pretty darn good 'as is' mind. :)

I think this must be the most realistic photo I've seen on this thread to date.

I can't really see anything in the photo that tells me it's a model.

Photographed on my diorama fixed firmly on top of a fence above the coast in order to obtain a real background. 0 gauge Royal Scot class painted years ago for I remember not, but most likely David Jenkinson.

A resting Q1. I was playing about with filters and cropping on my phone and was pleasantly surprised with this result. :)

I tried a similar approach on unweathered locos and it really shows the difference weathering makes in this instance.
