I picked up an RM the other day, congratulations on your layout feature, it really shows what level of quality can be achieved with time and patience.

I like the fact that some of us are able to see much more of the layout, articles like that always made me want to know what else was just out of shot.

Indeed. I seem to recall stumbling across this fine thread sometime ago.... and then losing touch with it.
However, I'm glad I saw it again today. This layout is looking great @phil.c

If the prices being asked for "pro weathered" scrapyard relics on eBay is anything to go by, definitely!

 

It definitely took me longer to create the WWI era wrecks for my 1930s based layout than it would have to build the kits straight from the box.

But the end result on both layouts justify the effort put in to make a unique scene.
