I picked up an RM the other day, congratulations on your layout feature, it really shows what level of quality can be achieved with time and patience.

I like the fact that some of us are able to see much more of the layout, articles like that always made me want to know what else was just out of shot.

Unfortunately Rob a lot of the early pictures were with Photobucket so they are not visible anymore but the inserted ones show a few pages later.

Indeed. I seem to recall stumbling across this fine thread sometime ago.... and then losing touch with it.

I do like your attention to detail with those wrecks, such as the dropped window on the Ford and the prototypically awkward bonnet on the Morris 8.

They were fun to do but very time consuming, and apparently worth more now 😂

If the prices being asked for "pro weathered" scrapyard relics on eBay is anything to go by, definitely!

 

It definitely took me longer to create the WWI era wrecks for my 1930s based layout than it would have to build the kits straight from the box.

But the end result on both layouts justify the effort put in to make a unique scene.

That's great, really shows off so many of the wonderful details. And the various bits of vegetation are so effective!
