have been doing some more progress on the tmd area first off started by ballasting around the track then have drilled holes to put the fence posts in once they were set i ballasted around them and glue it into place. They are all slightly different heights. once the fence itself has been installed then i will trim them all to the correct height.

then thanks to a great suggestion from rmwebber "class 66" i cut up some plasticard and put three layers down to create then concrete base of the TMD area. i used 30 thou plasticard and secured each layer together with crafters doublesided tape 6mm width. once i have done the whole area i will then paint the plasticard concrete colour. and then thanks to a suggestion from my friend mick i will use a pencil to creat some age 'cracks' in the concrete. the whol lot will be weathered and then sealed with dullcote.

the final shot is down the tracks towards the yard. this was taken pretty much immediately after putting down the pva water mix hence why it looks flooded.

I had time to do a little more last night so here r a few progress pictures. I laid and secured the track next to the fence line behind where the tmd shed is going to go and ballasted the area and glued in place with the standard mix. I then painted about 2/3 of the fence posts (final third being where the pva water mix was drying) so the final third will be done tomorrow. I have painted them to represent wooden posts. I know in the modern railway it's not likely to be metal posts but I like the more natural wood

My new plasticard supplies arrived today so as I've run out of fence supplies (winging there way to me via post) so I decided to do a bit more work on the concrete plasticard base so I've put in the outside bit at the back near the outside track near where the fence will be. I then ballasted up to the edge of the concrete area. On the front tmd track (without the inspection pit I have used polyfilla to fill in the gaps between sleepers and between the plasticard and the railhead. This will then be painted concrete so that it looks like the non inspection pit lane is concrete based track.

I have designed the logo for the brewery now and will be printing that off soon and attatching it to the brewery.

As soon as I do I will be post some pictures. May get some work done on layout tonight if fencing arrives in post. Otherwise it'll be finishing off the droppers. Got about 65% of the ones in the pics done yesterday.

Just as I was posting had ebay message saying fencing been posted today so looks like soldering tonight and fencing tomorrow.

Have made some progress on the fencing tonight. Almost done now and decided to paint the edge of the top surface of Sonera and PORTHCRESSA. I've seen a lot of exhibition layouts painting the edges of their layouts in black so as I'm no real fan of black I decided to paint it blue. I'll take some pictures tomorrow or Saturday and then post them.

Here's some more updates on the fencing and tmd area. The fencing of the tmd is now complete. As can be see from the photos I have painted the edge of the layout and relevant sides blue, although it looks darker in the pics than reality, all the layout I've ever seen have had black painted in these kinda areas. I'm no big fan of black so that's why I chose blue. The last shot was taken a few minutes ago after Id finished tidying and sorting the area out. As can be see I've still to finish the inspection pit lane and surrounding plasticard areas. These are then gonna be painted concrete colour and given a weather and sealed with dullcote. It'll then be ready for the tmd shed.

I would like to thank greatly in advance my friend mick who can scratchbuilding anything and is incredibly skilled at everything he does. He has very kindly said he will scratch build my tmd shed fir me to look like a miniature version of laira tmd. It won't be an exact copy but his version of my idea and I'm really looking forward to the results.

This week, after getting over cold I've had this weekend, to get the droppers for Sonera finished and then to start work on the power distribution system underneath.

Here's todays update from master scratchbuilder Mick on progress on the tmd shed for porthcressa

Updated post to read mick. Sorry mick. My phones predictive text always wants to change mick to Nick for some strange reason. Maybe if anyone from Apple reads this feed they could look into that.
