rogerzilla
As long as you're not a speed freak, being a freight driver sounds much more interesting than passenger work. Even if the locos are a bit agricultural at times.

Even if the locos are a bit agricultural at times. And if you want to be a speed freak then sign passenger units for testing and deliveries (although I’ve not driven a 196 for 12 months and probably won’t again) some from today, nuneaton to trafford park, due to the strikes I had to travel via Birmingham which took 2 hours but at least I got there! nuneaton, class 70 heading south while I was waiting a convoy of 66/59 headed south, 8 locos in total My train north, 66784 again Stopped in Stafford to let a Pendolino pass before heading out onto the fasts Makes a change to see trafford park in the day all done and shut down for the night Hams hall to Doncaster tomorrow morning, diverted WCML service again

RMweb Gold Popular Post big jim Posted January 7, 2023 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted January 7, 2023 (edited) Today was crewe to east mids gateway via nuneaton and Leicester as alrewas box was closed it arrived into Crewe late as Sandhills box was unable to be manned at the booked time so it left Liverpool nearly 2 hours late As I had to come from the east I needed to run round in castle donington Back on the train Waiting on the branch for the shunter to get from donington to the terminal to let me in, always looks impressive when the train is full Light on the wrong side but I like this one! And shut down for the weekend one more from the taxi, the terminal has been such a success that it’s expanding to the right hand side, not sure it it’s having cranes fitted but there are extra road(s) going in in the not to distant future same job every night next week, a last minute flow from longport to (for me) Doncaster, it continues on to Redcar I believe i think it’s a colas job that normally goes via uttoxeter but we have it going via alrewas (but I may suggest going the other way as I sign it) Edited January 7, 2023 by big jim 33
