D1015 SVR #104.jpg D1015 SVR #100.jpg Why do they change the numbers and names? The cognoscenti know the original number etc. - those that don't probably don't care. Poor old SDJR 88 was renumbered 53807 back in 1989 - mind you that was trumped by painting it Prussian Blue - even more fictitious. It seems justified for films, like Olton Hall's journey into magic land. Guest
Why do they change the numbers and names? [...] It's usually done for one of two reasons: 1.) Recreate a long-gone scene with surviving members of the class 2.) Someone with deep pockets and a fondness for a particular identity pays the owners to renumber/rename it for a weekend or two. RMweb Gold phil_sutters Posted June 9, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 9, 2016 (edited) Our only regular goods working, down the Seaford branch - deliveries of aggregate to Day's siding Newhaven - There seem to be a lot of 'aggregates' in the caption but that's what happens with dedicated freight companies delivering specialized loads to specialist companies! Searching for that to upload it here I came across one Dad did earlier - 26 8 1988 to be precise Edited June 9, 2016 by phil_sutters
