Class 56s,new and old photos...

Recommended Posts

a couple of grids that spring to mind, one of the dreaded class members which haunted me was 56120, I remember seeing it on the biggleswade bricks and through whittlesea no end of times, one which was a fave was 56084. my dad had the mainline model and I rememeber watching it hammer through whitlesea on the wisbech deanside petfood train in loadhaul livery.(the only time I ever sawher 'in the flesh') I did phone the scrap yard she went to to buy a the cabside number, but alas it had already gone.

The winter of 1980/81 finds one of the Doncaster-built batch ambling along the Sheet Stores - Stenson line. The loaded HAAs could be bound for Willington, Drakelow, Rugeley or Didcot power stations.

Seen behind the train is a rake of loaded HBAs in the sidings leading to the now closed Castle Donington power station.

Just an everyday scene from 34 years ago as the snow begins to fall.

A Colas Class 56 on the Sinfin Sidings to Grangemouth tankers.  The main purpose of posting this is to show any users of the Railcam.uk website that the Bolton-le-Sands cam (viewable without subscription) is back again.

Nothing posted in here for a while so I've been going through my few grid photos.

This would make an interesting weathering job for someone.

Hello Wayne,

I have no details on the service it was operating, there was another CAR brake van on the other end. So I think it came in to run round.

I should think theirs others who could answer your question.

Regards, Andrew.

My Avatar is from the inside No2 end of 56010 after withdrawl at Donny Carr Loco I had her kept from Component recovery at Wigan so I could use her as a Training loco for new drivers with EWS.

She had a few bits robbed but most stuff was intact.
