David Todd
Looks like you can't walk down the beach and cross the railway anymore. The old order just before disaster: 023.JPG Not at the moment Andy, but once the beach defences have been completed around end of April, Once again people can walk the beach and use the bridge at low tide. Here,is the link to all my photos on RMwebs tread, of the Seawall repairs. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/106504-folkestone-dover-sea-wall-wash-out/page-

Tempfix Rich Papper Posted January 16, 2017 Tempfix Share Posted January 16, 2017 There's a rather good picture of this section on P42-43 of the new Rail magazine (818). Might be useful. Loving your pictures. Rich

David Todd
No modelling, last night Tuesday, had to attend Canterbury, for a scan. But,some may happen tonight. Now, back to the growth on the cliffs, Lofty had started painting and shading the week before Christmas, since then, until the 10/1/17, none took place. So I will play catch up with the photo's. 2 week's Before Christmas, Picture 1422 by David Todd 2012, on Flickr Picture 1423 by David Todd 2012, on Flickr Picture 1426 by David Todd 2012, on Flickr Picture 1443 by David Todd 2012, on Flickr Picture 1449 by David Todd 2012, on Flickr 20/12/16. RMweb Gold westerhamstation Posted January 25, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 25, 2017 Hi David, I hope your scan was ok. the cliffs are looking fantastic. I see at some point there was a very high tide looking at that yacht on top of the cliffs. All the best Adrian.

David Todd
Taken today. This one is 1932, after the station was rebuilt. Durning refurbishment. Looking north. B/W photos Paul Wells, Dover,Lock and Key,to the Kingdom.
freebs
It certainly looks a lot different between the refurbishment and the 1932 rebuild. Apart from the covered over tracks on the left hand side it looks pretty much the same as it does today. Is that a cattle dock just above the signal box? Have you any more photos of the overall station roof and goods shed?

RMweb Gold Revolution Mike B Posted January 31, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 31, 2017 (edited) Hi David I've just finished reading through this whole thread since you posted on mine the other day. I'm absolutely speechless! If it wasn't for those lights being a shade to thick, and the track being OO and not P4, I'd seriously lose a lot of money betting on the fact it was real. Your attention to detail is absolutely outstanding and your scratch built stuff is out of this world. I tried to keep my layout simple, so I can fully appreciate the effort you've put in to this. Well done buddy,it's brilliant. Edited February 2, 2017 by scoobyra
lmsforever
The station roofs look just the same now as in 1932 they have lasted well considering everything that has happened in the area over the years ,also in the latest picture the flat roof on the station building looks as though it could have a damp problem !

David Todd
You doing some kit bashing Mr Todd .... Not really, the 2 spans and supports were 3D printed by the surveyor on the Dover Seawall Repair project, left them with me,after a visit to the model. The bridge foot way, is made out of 2 Hornby foot bridge spans, adding evergreen to beef it out. The supports will be filed down, I will dispose of the large base on the columb,to sit between the track's. Andrew F
Can you not make the bridges interchangeable David? The new 3D printed one is very smart (you should make friends with that surveyor) but I prefer the deceased 30's SR concrete beasty. After all you'll be getting a green 71 soon and the Night Ferry's gonna look better going under the old bridge. Reminds me; next time I'm down I have to bring the full Golden Arrow set of '51 Pullmans.
