David Todd
Thanks for your posts' above. No Neil, nothing new to post since the beginning of June, but thanks for asking. I have a lot of reading to do,catching up with what you and other members' have been doing, for the passed 8 months. I am patiently waiting, for a major upgrade to Dover Priory, once done and fitted,I can then proceed,to work from the back scene to the front of the layout. I have hardly looked at the layout, since June, been busy with daily photos' of the real repair's of the Dover Seawall, which failed last Christmas The line was reopened on the 5th September 16, after 8 months of intensive work, by Network and other contractor's. If you wish, here is the link to the thread on RMweb. Folkestone-Dover sea wall wash-out. I did start by cleaning the track last night and had the 3-car Electrostar 37/-- running.this was a Bachmann 3-car Turbostar, cut down and detailed by AndrewF. Here are a few,out of focus photo's I am infamous for. taken in the last 24 hour's. David Todd
Sorry, Electrostar is running a little too fast for the video, but it was "running in" on a high speed. Temperature has dropped around 10 degrees, no more lazing around in endless days of sunshine. So,tonight, started an endless list of to do items,on this section.

RMweb Premium nick_bastable Posted September 16, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 16, 2016 I have just clocked the billboard I spent most Sundays @ No5 at my long gone and missed Aunts, No Jubilee Way, crossing the road to the beach, the portals at the dock entrance. Walking up back row sweets from Kens and up to the cliffs. Dover Priory best remembered by me early 1980 CEP to Ashford and 205/7 to Hastings if running late on to Tonbridge and a 201/3 via Battle home
David Todd
Matt, should be pleased, reinstated the approach signal in Harbour Tunnel, for the scissors crossing and platform designation. David Todd
A small amount of time was given last Tuesday night,to adding some more vegetation around and above the footbridge. Yesterday I got plastered out, trying out a "new" style of colouing of a section of cliff. This week, will give up some time,to cutting up the large celotex board, into 3 manageable section's. David Todd
Once again, Tuesday night, came and went. Loftysr, turned up, along with Mikey,a bit later. a lesson in sprinkles and extra hold hairspray along with some uhu and the odd splodge of pva. The paint brush that Lofty was wielding, it seemed like I was watching a time lapse video. very quickly, the old concrete colour, appeared on the inset of the cliff. End of last Monday night. Andrew F
Sublime scenic modelling here. The luscious growth on the cliff side and the windswept tops; just like being there up on the tops of Shakey. This has to be one of the best pieces of scenic work in progress modelling of recent or any times.
jukebox
I'm very taken with the vegetation effect in this shot, dt: https://www.flickr.com/photos/89921297@N07/29937678206/ Is it off the shelf, or from scratch? David Todd
Hi David, Stunning work on the scenery. A question for you.... Where did you get the stairs from? Thanks in advance Jeff Thanks for your post Jeff. It is Loftysr's work, I just supply the material's. What you see, is the first 3 foot of a total length of 16 foot. I was hoping to pick up more materials yesterday, from the Folkestone show, but no one had any of my Requirement's. I mainly, rely on John at Greenscenes. The stairs and spans, were from 2 older Hornby - R.071 and a Triang span. Picked up cheap 2nd hand, either at shows or *bay. The stairs, handrails and spans, have yet to be weathered. Cheers Scott That's looking absolutely superb David. It's amazing how much time you can spend just adding foliage. Definitely worth the effort though. Cheers Marcus Thank you for your post's, as I said, tis Loftysr's work,he teaches,me,I have to do the other 13 feet. Is it off the shelf, or from scratch? Details of how it's done? Thanks Scott, no, not off the shelf, Loftysr, again. First, you need some of this, Rubberised horsehair. but, before you rush to order, Work out, approx how much you need, research thoroughly, next, there are various sizes and huge price markups,on small sizes available to modellers, so, take care. Will, go through the stages,of making what you have seen, after tomorrow night. Spent a couple of hours this evening, adding another section of cliff, more thin layers to add yet, after it dries.
