David Todd
Moorings' Found the pic's old the old style glass canopies, and the new, replacement ones. The old Style. The replacement style. Back to basics'. I feel that a mention of how the platform base(s) were made.......... The "Core " of the platform is extruded foam, ............ not your polystyrene packing stuff. Then, two layer's of Balsa Wood, were attached,1 top, 1 bottom, with PVA, The Peco concrete side's were then glued to a position, that the platform edging stones, were 1/32.inch above the, glued balsa. This allows me to fit the "Bobble Stone" tiles, that adorn most platform's these day's. They are provided for the Visually Impaired/Blind person's. I then, lay a sheet of 1/32 inch Basa strip,as the final platform surface, spraying, with Sea Grey paint....... A groove is cut, behind the "Booble stone Tile's to allow the inset of a long Yellow line, made from Evergreen strip. Final 1/32.inch Balsa. David Todd
Moorings', Today, am going to look at how the canopy,of platform 2/3. is supported. Like the curvature of the front edge of platform 3, is appears as an.............. optical illusion. The leading edge of platform 2 canopy, is easy, striaght as a dye, with the support stanchion's,in line and equally spaced..... The curved overhang of platform 3, the stanchion's,are equally spaced, but, are they in line ? The curved overhang of the canopy,is soley supported by cross beam's,that run the width,of both platform's. Platform 3,canopy, looking, South to North.
